New SL customization gonna drive home what a rush-job Nightborne were

I can only hope that how much more of an embarrassment Nightborne ‘customization’ will be in Shadowlands compared to other races will spur some sort of action. Not only do we not look like the Nightborne NPCs, we also have the least customization options of any race.

I hope when everyone is on their heterochromatic-eyed Wildhammer dwarves or their dark-skinned, blue-eyed blood elves or their tattooed desert trolls etc. that the playable Nightborne, as they stand now, seem absolutely ridiculous. If so, maybe someday we won’t just be night elves wearing masks, with fewer animations, upside down ears, and next to no customization.

I want to say that it was because allied races were given less time in the oven overall…but then Dark Irons, Maghar, and even the Kul’tiran prove that wrong.

They really did drop the ball on the Nightborne.

Yeah. They got shafted big time compared to the other allied races, even the ones that released at the same time.

Sometimes the transition from a NPC model to an actually playable one has some… hiccups.

NE have some of the same complaints when their model was updated… adding the expressions and the polish means some adjustments need to happen.

That said if they have the time adding a little extra to all the ARs afterwards would be a nice gesture.

Agreed, don’t even get me started how they cut out dispel illusions.

They could not even decide racial traits.

In short… legion allied races bad

Have you ever thought, it’s the NPCs who don’t look like you and are wrong?

MINDBLOWN!

i just server transfered (this is dekkar) and my new bank alt is hunk of a HMT dude. he looks so studly in his starter armor. :stuck_out_tongue:

No, because even basic civilian nobodies in Suramar look 10x better than player models.

Lest I miss my guess, aren’t Nightborne not getting customizations until much later; due to them being an allied race? If that is the case, then should you not be glad that your being handled slowly so the job is not… rushed?

i’ve always thought your toon looked quite nice, actually.

Oh man, don’t even get me started on our lack of any good racial traits. I mean, when our best racial just lets us read the mail… Ugh.

I’m actually fine with how I look, my issue is the compleate lack of Nightborn Transmogs available, theres almost none.

i made my mage a nightborne just because he is so COOL not because of anything to do with min/max. essentially all the horde AR racials are trash.

And that is why i never bought into this Horde bias stuff.

Nightborne get their model rushed and their racial traits are all non combat, non-unique utility.

I hope that someday my warlock can look like a proper handsome elf instead of an insect like he does right now :pensive:

Same. I mean, I’m a WW monk. That means my + 1% magic damage racial does exactly jack squat for me.

The nightborne adventurer was just born ugly, what’cha gonna do?

I mean, giving nightborne to the horde was the big bias on the first place. Nighborne were THE thing everyone wanted in legion while velves weren’t even a thing until the moment we recruit them, and were an a-pull to give the alliance belves so the horde could have nelves.

Doesn’t it affect Xuen? Your slow racial is cool though.

Claim bias like the rest of the forums.

like this.

And then Void elves ended up being the most popular alliance allied race.

With better racial traits to boot.

Sure?

Is it though? I can’t even remember the last time I used it. The damage isn’t great and, I mean, how often do you need a slow in current WoW? In Classic when everything ran in fear near death, maybe. Even then, it’s on a 3 min cooldown so pfft.

Maybe it’s good in PvP? I don’t PvP much at all anymore, so I dunno.

the slow racial is awful. the only good racial is the mailbox racial tbh.
