New Raiding with Leashes achievement

After running 10 alts through just LFR, I’ve got everything. (Since I stopped running wings that I had everything from I can’t speak to frequency of drop  )

So, after running the raids on my 11 120’s (Heroic and LFR for each), I am 1 pet short and have gotten many duplicates. So being 1 pet short, I just need the pet drop from the 1st Boss in HoF and I am good after that…

I did notice that the pet from Gara’jal in Mogu’shan Vaults seems to drop quite frequently. Out of the 11 toons I ran, I got it 5 times. So on the 11 toons, 2 times per toon I got the following:

Mogu’shan Vaults:
~Stoneclaw x1
~Wayward Spirit x 5
~Comet x 2
~Baoh’Xi x 2

Heart of Fear:
~Kor’thik Swarmling x 0 (this is the one I am missing)
~Spawn of Garalon x 2
~Amberglow Stinger x 1
~Living Amber x 1
~Ravenous Prideling x 1

Terrace of Endless Spring:
~Azure Windseeker x 1
~Spirit of Spring x 1

A friend of mine ran a couple with me and he got some pets too, but wasn’t counting his lol…Of the pets, Spirit of Spring and Stoneclaw took me the longest to get.

The only one I’m missing is Living Amber. And I have three Swarmlings.

Yea the Living Amber I didn’t get until I went into HoF on my DK, which was the 5th toon I ran.

I finished my achievement last night. Just like it was on the PTR, the Ravenous Prideling was the one that kept eluding me. I finally got it to drop on my 14th run through HoF.

I’m going to finish running all 22 of my characters through all the raids (x2 difficulties per toon) since I’m still curious about the drop rate percentages & the pets are still selling well.

I sent you a Swarmling today, which should make your collection complete.

After getting 7 out of the 11 by running various characters through LFR and regular versions of the raids, I ended up buying the last 4 on the AH for well under 20k gold combined, and considered it worthwhile. I was getting sick of the raids.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Just logged in today, was a busy day yesterday at work…

If you ever need any charm pets or anything let me know  When I run the raids this week again for gold/transmogs, and if I get the Living Amber it is yours!

I actually don’t mind the raids so much. Granted, it’s frustrating trying to sell the pets, since the drops are so frequent, we’re constantly being undersold.

But with all of the gear that drop that can be sold, I generally walk out out of a raid with about 5K at the vendors.

Working toward the 1 million gold, so I can get the pet that the NPC gives you if you have 1 million gold on you.

I’ve already done the raids and got Happiness. But thank you for taking the time to post this great write up. This is why I love the Pet Forum!

You’re welcome. Glad to help when I can.

Thanks very much, but my Hordie Warlock just got it. Happy, happy, joy, joy. Speaking of which, I now have Happiness, too.

Now, I got stuff to level!

Glad you appreciate the pet. It’s fine. I’m a real life conservative but very socialist in my private dealings. Honestly, I’ve gotten at least four Swarmlings, now. They don’t sell so well, because I’m trying to give nice prices, but someone always comes along and undersells me.

Saw no reason I couldn’t (or shouldn’t) share.

So, enjoy it! I haven’t looked at all the pets, but I really think the Swarmling is one of the better ones. Excellent power stat with a stun/takedown combo.

Running these raids reminds me how much I despised Blade Lord Ta’yak. Frickin tornado alley still causes me problems.

I don’t know what toons you use to run the raids, but I find I can avoid Tornado Alley if I keep the DoTs fresh, so when he flies into the middle of the room, he’s still got the full duration of damage over time on him, which will usually kill him before he starts the tornadoes.

If you’re using your Druid, keep the Moonfire, Rip and Rake fresh, so they run the full duration when he finally goes to the center of the room. Hopefully, the stack of DoTs will kill him before he can start the whole Tornado Alley nonsense.

Sometimes, it will still push me to the end of the hall in a tornado, but the DoTs will kill him before I have to start dodging tornadoes.

I never ran these raids when they were current content, so this is the first time I’ve seen them. I used to belong to a guild (only to be reminded why I hate guilds so much) which attempted to do one of these raids during MoP, but we never got past the room with the stone-lions, whatever they’re called.

Its changed so many times I can never remember. Can I run all LFR, N and H in 10 man and 25 man mode with one toon or is their a lockout for each raid?,

My understanding is that in MOP raids, LFR is one lockout (sort of) and Normal/Heroic is one lockout (the raids for this don’t have mythic). Switching between 10 and 25 does not let you repeat bosses. So basically on one toon in one week you can do one LFR run and one non-LFR run.

(I say LFR is one lockout, sort of, because you can go back and kill the bosses as many times as you want, but you only get loot once.)

That would make sense. Since it seems to change with each expansion, I never can seem to keep up with what is what. 2 tries per toon seems reasonable.

The Devs might not think so. With the availability of alts to run the raids, most of us got all the pets in the first two weeks.

Yup. Just finished mine. Didnt take long at all.

This is one of two Raiding With Leashes where I didn’t actually buy any of the pets. The other being Cataclysm (although I wish I did). I was so sick of dancing on Deathwing.
