SO! We are now getting new Death Knights. The lore is being updated to allow for every race to be Death Knights.
My question is: how about other race-class combos? We haven’t gotten any new ones in a LONG time.
My humble suggestions:
Human Druid - If Kul Tirans can do it, why couldn’t they teach other humans? Imagine how cool it would be to have a druid that just turned into… well… regular, normal-looking animals!
Dwarf Druid - Animals with big braided beards would also be extremely badass. And we’re getting Wildhammer tattoos now, so that could be worked into the lore somehow. Wildhammers learning the druidic ways doesn’t seem far-fetched.
Night Elf Paladin - There were two Night Elf paladins (or something very much like paladins) in the Paladin Order Hall in Legion. Just saying.
Gnome Shaman - If freakin’ goblins can be Shamans using totems that look like drilling machines, why not gnomes?
Draenei Rogue - We’ve seen Draenei stealth on Draenor and elsewhere. Kul Tirans can be rogues and they are absolutely enormous, even bigger than Draenei. You think hooves would make it impossible to sneak? I don’t.
Draenei Demon Hunter - Think about it: no race has a connection to the Fel quite like the Draenei. Fits the lore better than any other Alliance race, and they already look demon-ish. Imagine an Eredar-looking Draenei demon hunter, and tell me that wouldn’t be awesome.
Worgen Monk - There is absolutely no good reason that Worgen can’t be Monks. Nearly every other race in the game can be monks, even freakin’ zombies, but for some reason Worgen can’t learn it? Dumb.
Worgen Shaman - I don’t care how you want to make it work in the lore, it’s stupid that Worgen can’t be the one class that can TURN INTO A WOLF.
Worgen Paladin - I mean, Worgen used to be humans. Perhaps some even used to be Paladins. Plus it would just be really cool. Holy Hounds of God and all that.
Pandaren Druid - Tell me this wouldn’t be adorable. And Pandaren are already animal-people who live a peaceful, balanced life. They should be a shoo-in to the druid order.
Orc Demon Hunter - Like I mentioned with the Draenei, Orcs have a very close connection with the Fel. They would be the obvious choice for a new Horde demon hunter race. Imagine some Fel Orc style customization options. Badass.
Undead Paladin - There is now lore about Lightbound Undead or whatever they’re called. So there’s some lore supporting undead finding a way to use the Light in the canon. And anyway, undead paladins would just be cool as hell. I’m pretty sure some NPC ones already exist in the game, IIRC.
Tauren Mage - I mean, why not? Everyone else can do it.
Blood Elf Druid - Picture this: blood elves tapping into their old connection with nature (there are some quests in Eversong that reference this) and becoming druids again. Their cat forms could look like those red lynxes in Eversong. It’d be sweet.
Goblin Monk - As with the Worgen, there’s simply no good reason whatsoever that Goblins can’t be monks when pretty much everyone else can learn to do it.
Lightforged Draenei Monk - The fact that Lightforged were denied the Monk class is idiotic. They have a history of martial arts (see: the Jed-hin quests in MacAree), they are serene and spiritual, regular Draenei can do it, and they need a class that can wear leather armor.
Kul Tiran Paladin - They’re humans. Why can’t they learn to be paladins? It’d be awesome.
Highmountain Tauren Priest - Just like the Lightforged have no class that can wear leather, the Highmountain have no class that can wear cloth. There’s no good reason they can’t be priests if regular Tauren can do it.
Nightborne and Void Elf Demon Hunters - They’re elves. Why not?
