Yeah, that crossed my mind. Pretty awful to imply all goblins are greedy and simply can’t be otherwise.
Let’s not forget Lord Harford, a worgen in the Argent Crusade - an order mostly composed of Paladins, Priests, and other servants of the Light - too. Wonder what a worgen was doing in there, hmm.
Hell, I’ve brought this up so many times. But Gakkiz Blusterblast (A Goblin Monk) exists.
Becoming a Monk isn’t about an initial judgement of your character, but rather about the type of person you can become through their teachings (Burdens of Shaohao)
If the opposite were the case; Orcs, who typically have a time and a half dealing with their rage problems and general amount of bloodthirstiness would never have been able to become Monks either.
Which is why the Argent Dawn is really race agnostic when it comes to who has a part in their order. Which is why you see so many different races as members of their faction.
The teachings of the Monastary are also race agnostic in that regard.
Here’s a nudge to remind Blizzard that this expansion really needs something more compelling than… well, the covenant thing, which will last as long as your garrison did for Draenor. As fun as the garrison was at the time, it’s not exactly something we dwell on now and feels like a bump in the level-up highway.
Mechagnome Paladins. We have priests, we have warriors, we’re civilised. Sure, we’re not exactly a “spirtual” race, but the twin lights of progress and science are objects of virtual worship amongst us.
How pandas weren’t made Druids is still a mystery to me (and a huge missed opportunity on Blizzard’s part). They worship wild gods (the Celestials), both Horde and Alliance have them so no balance issues, they could have amazing celestial inspired forms, and they would increase the popularity of the Pandaren race. All wins in my book but Blizz must be reading a trashy harlequin novel instead
Also… Looking at Tyrande right now… The way she fights, is clearly very Paladin-ish. I think it would suit greatly the Warrior of Elune being a paladin, and even more if they would get the holy effects reshaded into moonlight’s blue.
The whole Rogue fantasy never centered - just - around stealthiness. As represented by combat/outlaw spec, it can fill in the light melee combatant archetype. The spec doesn’t even use daggers!
Void elves are our lame stand-in high elves, because blizzard refuses to give the Alliance high elves… so they should have paladin just for that reason.
It’s not a huge deal for me personally (I just want worgen paladins and I have no idea why Kul’Tirans couldn’t be paladins the instant they were added to the game), but I know a lot of people who are rightfully very upset about the whole middle finger to high elves, so I felt I should mention it in the thread.
The Alliance in general should get a few more paladin races (my vote, of course, is to worgen and kul’tirans) to balance things out.
Give me a reason to go through this new leveling experience, please, Blizz. I would legitimately like one, but I just really don’t have one right now. I want to be excited to level some more in Shadowlands, since it’s my favorite thing to do in WoW.
