Monks require a zen-like state that the worgen could never attain. Casters just cast spells periodically. That’s why an UD priest can cast holy spells and not kill himself.
I get that it could probably never happen but:
Pandaren Warlocks and Paladins.
I can see the potential lore issues with Warlocks but for Paladins they could maybe work. Or not, I don’t really know.
I’m happy we finally got Pandaren DKs though. I’ve been waiting for them since MoP.
I wonder where you got this confirmed lore information and the knowledge that those things can never change. That’s pretty cool.
So why can’t goblins be monks, then? Why can’t Lightforged Draenei be monks, when the Jed’hin are hanging around? I’m sure you know.
Personally, I’d love to see worgen get some new classes because I’m a worgen main and I get sick of the majority of my choices being casters. I don’t really want my werewolf to run around in robes throwing spells. I would rather be a melee attacker and be able to tank but not have to turn into a bear. I have lots of options to do this when I roll virtually any other race, but not worgen.
Until Blizzard makes some brand new class that suits worgens’ apparent inability to be any of the current classes despite every other race including undead being able to achieve this kind of zen and/or be a paladin, I will keep asking for monks and/or paladins.
Greed isn’t zen-like. To be a monk is to be selfless, a trait you would never find in a goblin…
So you don’t think Blizzard just happened to randomly leave the Cata races out and deny them monk? Interesting.
What about undead, how do they achieve inner peace?
No clue about the UD. I guess they could achieve inner peace, but because of their current state of being undead, holy spells hurt them?
Yeah, I’ve heard that one. I guess lightforged undead are in constant harrowing pain, and those undead paladins in the lore must really be suffering. I wonder how they achieved that.
This leaves Lightforged Draenei, though; they can’t be monks either. Why not?
Also begs the question how the LFD are shadow priests.
Gameplay. They’re not going to deny certain specs to certain races.
I’m still in favor of racial spell skin templates for each race. That way they are unique-ish and non-lore breaking.
That’d be cool as options. I’m always for more options.
Blizzard can make up any justification for anyone to be anything, really; we’ve seen it all before. Advancements in the plot/world/race/etc., alterations to the lore (like how Zandalari paladins “aren’t really paladins” and get their power from a loa, same for their druids, etc., there are tons of other examples), and various other things. The lore is malleable, otherwise the game would never change.
Draenei Warlocks with my boi Thal’kiel as our leader!
So much potential with him. They did some cool stuff with Xal’atath so they clearly don’t mind giving previous sentient artifacts some love.
Rise up Wakeners!
Wait… Did I say this already?
It needs to be said as many times as it takes!
It worked for those dumb high elves after all!
It’s worked for a few things now - here’s hoping it works again.
Absolutely agreed.
Evidently yes, yes it did.
I’d like to see Worgen Shaman myself. A wolf man turning into a ghost wolf seems cool.
Won’t argue with that, either. It’d be cool to have a worgen that can actually turn into any kind of wolf.
I just really want to expand my tank horizons for my worgen…

" You don’t remember me, [name]? I lost count of the number of jobs you and I ran back in the day on Kezan. Then I picked up a real bad Kaja’Cola habit and you saved me! It was you who took me to Kalimdor to join the Steamwheedle Cartel. You were the only good goblin I knew. That’s how I ended up in the Argent Dawn, because I knew it was what you woulda done. How could this have happened to you?
Remember the goblin that you once were, [brother/sister]! You were my best friend! Fight this!
Listen to me, [name]. You must fight against the Lich King’s control. He is a monster that wants to see this world - our world - in ruin. Don’t let him use you to accomplish his goals. You were once a hero and you can be again. Fight, damn you! Fight his control!"
