New Race for the Alliance: HALF ELVES!

i provided a possible solution to the dilemma of alliance high elves being the same as horde blood elves, visually. just make most alliance high elves into some variation of half elf, with shorter elf ears and shorter elf eyebrows. in effect, they’d look like a normal elf. this fixes so many problems, even solves for elisande’s comments and the comments of devs who said alliance high elves are assimilating into the surrounding culture. this could be short for, becoming half elves. itd also explain why the high elves of dalaran didnt follow kael’thas to outlands, because they had half elven families of their own in dalaran

its an odd thing but apparently theres some nuance there or else every shadow priest of note that got near the sunwell would cause the same problem.

you’re looking like bleached bones in the desert with a crown of dead flowers. i think you have achieved what you set out to do!

I think he might of been talking about Blood Elves and the Void Elves :woman_shrugging:

Helf is already taken, so this obviously won’t work.

half elf not high elf. half elf.
part human, part high elf.

gads that reminds me of spaceballs. part dog part man, i’m a mog. i’m my own best friend. haha

So… Haelf?

hrm yes technical difficulties for referencing. maybe dont call them half elves. call them quel’dorei like elisande did. then it could be qelf.

Half elf is half some elf race and half some other race. If races can mix, then mixing isn’t limited to humans and ‘high elves’. Any elven race can mix with any non-elven race. Including Horde.

correct though high elf + human pairings are mentioned in lore and in game as well.

Other races mix too. Garona Halforcen is, of course, mixed race.

You’re opening a can of worms here.

can is already open. that nice looking belf paladin in the honor hold inn, outlands, wearing judgement armor, thats the half elf, arator, the son of alleria and turalyon. he doesnt have a half elf model yet though. also, alodi gives you a quest in legion, he was the first guardian of tirisfal, and a half elf. then there’s kalecgos, who appears as a half elf during the magister’s terrace quest chain, though he looks just like a human with pretty blue hair. id want elf ears, just not those super long elf ears

in lore, theres the twin half elf sons of veressa and rhonin. veressa is the leader of the silver covenant on alliance.

during legion, elisande accuses the gathered quel’dorei of being half elves when she says they’ve diluted their bloodlines . so at least some of the silver covenant are half elves.

Kalecgos is not a “half high elf”, nor does he present himself as one. He poses as, in Kael’thas’ words, “a half night elf mongrel”.

So what you’re saying is that high elves have no free will. They can only mix with humans, and no other races can or will be permitted to mix.

That sounds pretty, uh, racist. The love of Gazlowe’s life is, we learned in BfA, a gnome.

well first of all if we could access human stuff as half elves, we could tap into the asian and african hair/faces/skin and have the first asian and african elves. i had no idea kalec was night elf. boy he needs elf ears.

Either that or you could just take the blood elf model, call it “half elf” and get your alliance blood elf model you’ve been wanting to play.

if we got half elves, i’d want them to have a new model, with new animations. i’m sure blizz can afford to give us a new core race that no one has seen before because no model has been made for them yet.

Except for the fact tht they are not two separate races. They are the same people, just a different name and political affiliation.

Oh no…the dev did not know about some really obscure piece of lore in their massive game. They cant be trusted on anything in regards to the gam they made or the story they wrote /s

Fact of the matter is that high elves and blood elves are the same people, just different affiliations politically. If you think renaming yourself in WC3 turns you into a different race, do me the favor and call yourself a different ethnicity in real life and claim you are a new species of human. You know…because titles change you biologically.

The Sin’dorei and High Elves split into two factions, High Elves and Sin’dorei. Game, devs, lore recognize this fact. So to say Sin’dorei are High Elves is correct race wise, but most Playable High Elves topics are based on the two factions they have become as a race, so to say that all Sin’dorei are High Elves in the discussion of two factions isn’t correct and is misleading. We all know they are the same race already we mostly talk about the faction difference between the two.

Half Elves should come after the Alliance High Elves are allowed to be playable, Half Elves in my opinion would not be a viable alternative to the matter first requested to be addressed and that’s Alliance Playable High Elves, I mean face it what interaction have you had with a Half Elf in the game as a Alliance player compared to the High Elves, We would all be back here the next day talking about High Elves and the problem would still exist. Just like it happened when the Ren’dorei were released. I for one am all in favor of Half Elves in the future, but not as a alternative not for that reason, lets be patience develop them on their own merits as a AR, get the order right, get the parents first, then we can have the children.

That person clearly does not Valarian. Read the posts before responding.

Your talking about high elves correct??
