Human elves is a terrible idea. FIrstly because high elves are few in numbers. Secondly because there’s Rhonin and Turalyon who got down with elves and that’s basically it. Unless you wanna roleplay as Rhonins twins I don’t think its happening.
While yes i’m sure theres a few more who could have fallen in love with humans; I just do not believe there’s any way for human elves to be a thing as a race.
Only elves I wanna see added to this game are real Tolkein elves. Not the addicts and tree huggers we got. Mainly because I don’t like the effeminate blood elf brand elves or the hairy weird elves.
well half elves are represemted in the lore as far back as the first guardian of tirisfal. to give you some idea what that means is, a guardian is like medivh or khadgar, though khadgar turned down the offer to be a guardian, he was in training to be one. anyway, the first guardian was a half elf and that was a long time ago. there’s probably a whole lot of half elves, they’ve just never been given unique models. and, they would look more like traditional elves because shorter ears and shorter eyebrows. here’s an example. i’ve taken the liberty to turn his hair kalecgos blue and give him some face paint. i dunno who painted the original.
There is not a SINGLE half elven society in game. So for the half elf allied race to be a thing it would have to come from a different continent. Would make absolutely 0 sense to have some random new half elf society in an obscure area that was lost to time, when they can just make a new elf race.
its right under your nose. the silver covenant are likely mostly half elven. the kirin tor probably have quite a few half elves. you’re just not thinking it thru. 3000 years of intermingling. no models for them yet. that can change over the course of one patch
No, no they aren’t. This is stupid fan-fiction on your part to support a weak argument.
If that were the case it would have been mentioned in the lore. Even if it was some SURPRISE thing there’s still not enough half elves to support an allied race.
I am. It’s why i’m saying it makes absolutely 0 sense. Anything you offer is merely fanfiction and ridiculous. The silver covenant is not going to be mostly half elves. The silver covenant is described as a militant faction of High elves. Not half elves. Not half elves and high elves. Just high elves.
note when she gets to the description of the quel’dorei, who are represented by the alliance silver covenant high elves, she says their really not high elves as their bloodlines are diluted by what she calls lesser races.
idgaf about elves, as far as i’m concerned belves suck as much as void, night and any other crap elf they can come up with, i’m just saying there’s far too much of that dumb race on this game already
Ok great? Blizzard still didnt make high elves an allied race because the silver covenant wasn’t a good enough reason. Why would saying some of them are half-elves make it any better? It’s a worse argument if anything.
I mean thats great and all. Opinions are thankfully not facts. I am of the opinion it would be great fun to put a toothpick under my big toenail and kick a wall. It’s an absolutely dreadful opinion, but it’s an opinion none the less.
it removes from the table the threat of the high elves being a playable race on alliance, since they’re mostly half elves.
it creates a believable back story for why the high elves of dalaran would not follow kael’thas to outlands, as they were already in various states of half elven with half elven families. the royals were just the last to do so.
it provides an avenue for the new asian and african models added to humans in shadowlands, to be represented among elves.
it gives alliance access to alliance high elven lore and high elven themes, without the need for the high elven model.
it finally gives us elves that dont look like they could cook dinner with their ears and wash windows with their eyebrows
(Statement): With some more tweaking, these would be pretty good models for Half-Elves, I think. The different stance is already a significant deviation from Blood Elves and Void Elves. The ear lengths need to be shorter, and maybe make the arms a bit thicker. The eyebrows also need to just not be that massive.
