New Race for the Alliance: HALF ELVES!

I’ve yet to see brown/non pale skinned elves that looks more human skinned. And I really dig that model.

I will add my name for the support of Half Elves.

Shorter eyebrows, as well

Does there need to be a Half Elf society for them to be playable? I feel like that holds them to a higher standard as an allied race

All Blizz would need to do is declare the Half Elves of the RPG canon. They could do it with a snap of their fingers, as nothing in WoW contradicts the info about them from the RPG. Arator would be a perfect racial leader, we only need a recruitment scenario that gathers a chunk of Half Elves to fight for the Alliance

what i like about the idea is they still call themselves quel’dorei, though they would be less high elf than a blood elf would be. but that means we could access alliance high elf lore they’ve been accumulating all this time. if the silver covenant is in part or whole, half elven, we’d also have access to silver covenant lore. remember elisande said they were paupers pretending to be royals, because of their diluted bloodlines. so they’ve retained the name quel’dorei, though they aren’t full blooded quel’dorei.

I don’t believe that would make much sense Hyper.
Can’t claim what you aren’t.

that’s what elisande pointed out - that they were diluted bloodlines. she calls them quel’dorei and then points out their pretenders to the throne because of their diluted blood. the whole point of high elves as a title is they are children of the royals. but in this case, a blood elf is more royal since blood elves aren’t mingling with humans, who they view as enemies because of garithos.

No.
She points out that they were playing at a legacy they don’t own because they were diluting (in the process of) their bloodlines with humans.
She was not claiming the high elves were not full blooded high elves.

your argument is circular. the alliance high elves, called the quel’dorei, are really not quel’dorei in the textbook sense, though they call themselves that, because of their diluted bloodlines. if they’re half elves, they aren’t high elves.

The high elves are literally that in the textbook sense because Blizzard said so across multiple books Hyper.

I agree we need Half Elves. Just point me to the chain saw and I will make it happen.

except some of the alliance high elves, are not full blooded high elves, they are half elves. they still go by the name quel’dorei though. hehe. else elisande berating them for having diluted bloodlines would be talking to half elves who weren’t present. clearly the quel’dorei who are present are a mix of high elves and half elves, to varying degrees.

I’ve never seen such a thing Hyper so you’ll have to link it. At no point has any half elf called themselves or been called a quel’dorei.

see my additions in the post above yours

its weird i know but thats exactly what elisande accuses the silver covenant alliance high elves, who she calls “quel’dorei” of being - half elves. a high elf that isn’t a full blooded high elf, is a half elf, even if they are seventy five percent high elf and twenty five percent human. there’s not a 3/4ths elf. there’s just full or half.

Idunno if anyone said this, but I’d be fine with half elves if they were half gnome, so half the height of a normal elf.

Half-Elves are probably a pipe dream. One that would certainly lure me back to Retail. Most of my humans would get either rerolled, or race-changed if we got them.

Side note, they could give the Horde Half-Ogres at the same time, and it would be all equal.
