(Statement): Confirmed. Unit Exacitor will now begin calculations on how to make Half-Elves look nothing like elves.
(Scenario): Dalaran is transported to the plane of Arcane and all inhabitants are transformed into Ethereal-like entities capable of assuming a form similar to Dr. Manhatten from the Watchers.
(Error): Too similar in appearance to Kyrians.
(Retraction): Did I say the Arcane Plane? I meant the Twisting Nether, and they become Ethereal-like entities made of Fel. So, green instead of blue.

They also would have to look anything like humans then.
I mean, they should look like an average of the two at the end of the day, right? Or maybe certain cosmetic features could push them at one side or the other? Cause so far Half Elves in wow have either used human or elven models, so maybe while on average they look like a mix, they can favor to either side.
So a base model that looks like a combination of human and elf should be the goal -maybe with a more human like stance if we consider Dalaran as their place of origin as a group- with ear and eyebrow length/shape varying between human and elf.
Halfbreeds are rare, but they do happen with certain races.
But, the keyword is RARE.
Hyrbids shouldnt be made an entire race/allied race though.
If you want a half breed so badly, you can RP as one.
Sure I would be down for this, they could use the Skinny Kultiran model in Kultiras.
Yet blizzard has basically all but said or has said every race is able to mate with another species in the WoW universe. Well, the playable ones.
(Contradiction): Most combinations of half-breeds are rare, however, Half-Elves have existed for over 3,000 years, and there is an entire settlement of Half-Ogres (Mok’Nathal) in Outland. Half-Elves and Mok’Nathal appear to be uncommon enough that they would drastically outnumber playable races such as Void Elves or Darkspear Trolls quite easily.

and they should share the asian and african skin/hair/faces the humans are getting in shadowlands, so we have our first asian / african elves. i want an asian half elf with a braid down her back and an african half elf that looks like a vulcan, and a caucasian half elf with pink hair and blue eyes. and they need the bard class, pronto.

Keebler elves would be better. They atleast know how to bake and market cookies.
hehe gnome faeries, racial mount is a dryad. when they sit, a mushroom appears as their chair. their mount doubles as their partner in battle. you’ve heard of pet class. well their race is a pet race as their mount helps them in battle regardless of the class. they can hover in the air like peddlefeet.

(Fun Fact): There is a toy in the game you can acquire to do just that.
yes now imagine fae gnome sitting on that with their sprite darter hatchling wings flapping. oh and their heritage set should have at least one pair of curly toed shoes. and one of the models needs freckles.
by george, i’ve got it. some mad scientist tries to re-flesh a bunch of mechagnomes and a sprite darter flies into the lab. the result is sprite darter fae gnomes. i know you’re thinking they’re too cutesy. but i’d like to direct your attention to fur the horde. 
No way on the good compromise part. I do however support the addition of any and all Elves to the game.
why not? they share the same lore as their high elven parent and are part of the silver covenant. they would literally be many of the visible silver covenant members. they just dont have unique models yet.
Then add both to the game.
Having high elves, half elves, and void elves fighting over the same themes and aesthetics would ruin all three.
they wouldnt use the same model as high elves and void elves. different model, different animations, different hair styles, different hair colors, even different dances. in fact, we could get our first asian and african elves, since those are customizations coming for humans
