New Race for the Alliance: HALF ELVES!

Half Elves are only half of an Elf people. Being the first half breed race would be pretty unique

Those models are neat. My only criticism is that they should probably be slightly bulkier and the ears/eye brows should be about half that length

Considering the amount of time it takes to create new models and new rigs/skeletons, I’m not sure it’s entirely worth the investment considering how close they’d look to human/high elf anyways. Those two models already look pretty similar as is. I don’t think you could really get a proper middle ground. If Blood Elves used their old alpha models, then the current High Elf model would be perfect appropriate for a Half-Elf, but with what we’ve currently ground there’s not much middle ground between the two that isn’t going to be based on customization, such as beards, jewelry, hairstyles, etc…

For something like Half-Elves, I think Blizzard could be given a solid pass for taking an existing model and changing it’s silhouette by giving it a different stance. I’d rather new unique models were spent on new unique races.

Well, they’re High Elves, according to the artist.

Eyebrows more in line with what humans have, and shorter ears would certainly make sense. As for bulk, I think they look fine as is, at least male models do. I think female Half-Elves would need to be a touch bulkier than female High Elves. Maybe do the unthinkable and use the modified Alexstraza/Ysera/Sylvanas models.

My bad, I misread your post

I think it’s unlikely that Blizz will use the Thalassian model again for an allied race, unless it’s heavily modified. The most recent allied races have proven to be more than just reskins, should Half Elves be considered I’m sure they’d have the uniqueness of Kul Tirans (in regards to how different they’d be from normal humans/elves, not necessary their weight)

It took them just as long to modify the the jungle troll skeleton to create the zandalari one. Let alone the kul tirans also use a completely unique skeleton as well. The alliance deserves good quality, and it is time for Blizzard to step up their fame.

So. How bout them half elf racials?

Ambassador: Can translate all languages, including dragonspeak, magic languages, even offworld languages. Pvp friendly.

No Place like Home: Can bind themselves, anywhere (make any point in the game, their hearth). No cooldown. (we win, game over, etc haha)

I Believe I Can Fly: Real levitation (look up in first person, go up. look down, go down). Lasts for 3 minutes. Cooldown, 20 seconds. Damage taken removes it.

Only elf races they should add now are cookie making elves for alliance and toy making elves for horde

(Threat): If you ever dare infringe upon Grumble’s status as the foremost master of cookie making in the Alliance and, indeed, all of Azeroth, ever again, there will be no pit of the void deep or dark enough to conceal you from my wrath.

there are already half elves in the game. most alliance high elves suffer from diluted bloodlines after 3000 years of mingling with humans. they’re all some variant of human+high elf, already. :sparkling_heart:

i like mingling.

Void Elves aren’t the same, because they aren’t interracial.

It’s a huge stretch to say that there has been some community of humans and elves that only have babies with their racial counterpart, and that those interracial babies somehow escaped notice for hundreds of years or more.

People who are that interested in procreating mixed races would sail the entire world letting everyone know they were there and ready to have their babies.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

You live in a very, very weird world, man… like… whoa.

You said it would require there were already a ton in the game, I gave you an example of a very small group suddenly becoming a playable race. Given we have examples of half elves in game that happen to use the Bloodelf model, there could be a number of them. We don’t know that every Silver Cov elf we see is a full blooded, and a model change to a race that previously looked one way, and now looks another way, isn’t unheard of.

This whole sailing the world advertising mating willingness response though… I mean, seriously?

I stopped reading right after, “For those people who love high elves”…

Nah, we don’t need to play to the smallest denominator.

Do you have another plan?

first guardian of tirisfal was a half elf
kalecgos appears as a half elf - he got the idea from somewhere
alleria has a half elven son name arator . you visit him in the honor hold inn in outlands. sadly he doesnt have a half elven model yet - he’s in a generic blood elf model
veressa has twin half elf sons. high elves been hanging with humans in dalaran for 3000 years. blizz has just never got around to giving them unique half elf models
