New players are not welcome in this game

To be clear i also agree that they should keep the OG tints exclusive, i just think they should add one new distinctive tint like the bear for each spec.

A promise in good faith from a company is indeed a good thing, but recognizing that some of the old decisions and philosophies are better left in the past and changing for the better of the game and its playerbase is more important for me.

And we could not choose a better company then Blizzard to say that a lot of times insisting on bad choices is not good. legion legendaries system, corruptions, azerite armor/reforge, titanforged, covenants, conduit energy…

Very nicely stated  Yes I can agree with you on everything you said. Completely.

Tbh I think they are more welcoming to new players than other MMOs. Since the level squish and Chromie system was implemented. Which is great.

What they are not welcoming about is Allied races. Pretty much on repeat about this, but it is important. I would honestly just have allied races set up like demon hunter and death knight. You do a little intro. Which would be these cute quests they put in (some were pretty enjoyable) and be done with it. That’s it. Just prompt it when they go to create the character. Simplified and welcoming.

Personally, I think Blizzard should have never have made that promise in the first place regarding Mage Tower gear. I think everything that’s ever been in the game from a cosmetic standpoint should be obtainable. It’s just pixels. Besides, honestly I only care about what I’m wearing. I couldn’t care less what anyone else is wearing, most times I don’t even pay attention to that.

That being said, Blizzard did make that promise to the players at the time, and they should stand by it. Even though I’ll never have those items, and I wish I could, I agree with this. I don’t like it but they should honor their promises.

It’s a contradiction from the mage tower. I totally agree with you there. I think both sides of the mage tower debate have valid points. But I don’t think there is a realistic solution because so many from either side will not acknowledge the other sides valid points.

It was limited time. Deal with it. You can’t go into a store years after a sale ends and demand them to sell you an item for that sale price.

Mmmk, Then I want a spectral tiger mount. I want it to be easily obtained so everyone can get one too, it was released years ago, so it shouldn’t matter to anyone that has it.

And I also want the scarab lord mount, not the title just the mount. Same thing applies, its old content so why does it matter.

Come to think of it, every AOTC mount should be put in the store for 10 bucks each. Those that earned (or paid for a carry) will have the achievement so it shouldn’t matter… Right?

The Mage Tower debacle more or less brings to light WoWs current problem with all of its content. Wow is basically a small game built upon the corpses of its former self. After an expansion is released the old one becomes just an area to pass through for leveling. So much content, art, and programing just sit gathering digital dust say for new toons and transmog tomb raiders. WORLD of Warcraft is a misnomer. It’s not really a world but just segments of storyline frozen in time, only really living in its expansions heyday. The Mage Tower is a microcosm of that. People want to say, “I was there. Look what I did.” Hell, I still have my tabard from defending the Dark Portal when Burning Crusade first launched. While I agree that event content should be limited, all this hoopla does show that when new people get into this game they are deceived by its implied size. Truthfully, you are just here to play Shadowlands. Everything else is technically dead content. Sure there is Timewalking, but it is just their attempt to recycle it and make a jaunty romp through nostalgia. I might be slightly off topic, but my point is unless they somehow make the world more of a “living” world, the game is just the current live expansion, everything else is just missed content.

LOL. Sorry, but why would a new player actually care about something they weren’t even part of? That would be like me just starting complaining about not being able to get the original ZG mount or the original MoP challenge mode stuff.

Good lord people need to stop reaching hard on things like this. “Oh noes. New players aren’t welcome because we were never even here for limited time items.”

Can you please make sure to post this on all other mmos as they have had items that were for a limited time and not brought back? Thanks!

such as? Thanks

This wouldnt be a problem if they continued making new cool rewards for each xpansion.

But they havent made good transmog since legion is the real problem

not even class specific armors let alone high class fantasy stuff like mage towers

We are not asking for something easily obtained, we only want a shot to earn something even if it’s harder this time around.

So… go get one? They’re still available via the same method they always were. Buy the card or buy it on the AH.

Most of them have probably quit by now anyway so they wouldn’t care. lol But aside from that, the Scarab Lord mount and title are actually a good example of why exclusive things are stupid. That mount almost 100% of the time meant you were the GM of a larger guild who devoted a lot of time farming so you could have a special boi mount. It wasn’t “hard.” Just a grind.

Sure. That’s how plenty of people get them anyway. People have just been paying for runs for years anyway, so they’re already buying them.

You have 21 tiers of class specific armor + 5 still obtainable different spec specific artifact skins, along with 4 tints for each skin.

I think that’s more than enough class fantasy for new players…

That’s the beauty. You get to keep your property, and someone else gets to have their own completely separate one that says “hey, I did literally the exact same content you did for the same reward.”

in fact

look at all the stuff OP has available to him to collect

guy has barely scraped the top of things he can collect, yet he’s here fixating on the mage tower stuff he can’t.

I defer you to Blizzard’s post about why that’s a bad idea.

I suggest people to move on. It’s over.

I hoped Blizzard putting the nail on the coffin would bring people some closure on the matter, but I guess people will always want stuff they can’t have :man_shrugging:

I thought this was going to be a post about how new players keep getting insulted, raged at and kicked from leveling dungeons, and yeah that is definitely a problem. New players should be welcomed into the game on that front.

But no, genuine new players are probably not going to care too much about the mage tower. They have so much to earn and explore that it’s probably not even going to be a blip on their radar. Stop using “the poor noobs” for an agenda.

Am I supposed to guess the link?

:unamused: glances over at Classic servers

Hey, remember how funny it was when people got all mad that Blizzard opened up the MT permanently at the end of Legion so everyone had a shot? Cause they were. I member.

the shear amount of effort some of us put into getting the weapon appearance an i agreee 100% with blizzard it devalues those efforts… you missed out oh well… at least they are giving xmog from it this time.
