Should be used to it by now so i don’t see the problem
look, the wear bear addition is the correct way to solve the problem. they can simply allow a recolor for the rest of the mage tower weapon skins and that wont devalue the statement that what options were available were limited time only because those exact colors are the only thing that would be gone.
recolors is how wow tends to consider an item different enough to be its own item. other games do dye sets.
best of all, adding a recolor means EVERYONE gets MORE options. a solution of solving problems by adding things vs removing things.
You still have the exclusive item.
What does it hurt when someone you don’t even know, someone who doesn’t play your character, if they get a fel variant for trying that content and content that just isn’t a 100% win across the board of the varying player base.
Because there are several instances where it’s either part of a set you can easily get (burning tree mounts + warfront sets) or the colorization is part of another set (Warrior Protection mage tower artifact weapon + Mag’har Orc heritage armor) which should be available to the game.
Exactly.
And just how one side gets furious on the other…
They seem to not understand that it does not devalue their reward and accomplishment. I swear it’s like people getting AOTC first week and harping on others that get it months later and how it doesn’t matter.
Do devalue something is to make it less than what was originally stated. In no way does adding a different version of the same thing make a devaluation. If half the people that get peeessed off about this would be as upset at how the governments of the world devalue money, we’d probably have some relevant change.
To be fair, that is a little different. Limited time food products are extremely common and done to fish and see if they sell. If not, they’ll discontinue. McRib came back after a lot of demand as a seasonal thing. It’s not like something somebody earned. Unless they want to start reaching and say “I earned the money to buy my McRib”.
Same is true for most products. If a company sees something is well received they’ll often bring it back.
To be clear, I don’t care if they do or don’t bring them back. What I do care about is people demanding other people not have access to something that in no way devalues what they themselves have.
I played in Legion and earned the skins I wanted on the classes/specs I wanted. I don’t have them on this account and it’s fine. There are plenty of weapons in the game including quite a few other artifact skins that look awesome. But some people want it, and I’ve yet to see a good reason they can’t earn them. Most of the reactions are akin to a 4 year old clutching their favorite toy on the playground when another kid looks at it.
Some products, but not all nor should they. Some sleeping dogs should be let to lie.
I empathize with people who have things that were exclusive. This whole new generation of kids who feel they need everything everyone else has is idiotic. You have kids who see shiny and want shiny. They can go online and buy a degree from a random website or get a certificate of ordainment. People who chose not to better themselves demanding the same salaries as people who continued their education and training.
Then all the reaching I see of people trying to rationalize why these people who buttered their bread get to sleep in someone else’s.
It all boils down to the fact that their parents never taught them what the word “no” means. These are the same people who grew up eating tide pods.
You are welcome to play WoW. But dont feel so entitled that you would be given special treatment. There are lots of players who missed some time-sensitive stuffs which were given during its time not just Mage Tower goodies. There are gazillion stuffs to collect on this game. Just try to realize THAT YOU WONT BE ABLE TO GET ALL OF THEM even if you are present since Vanilla.
If I were you concentrate on the present. Get the stuffs available right now. Dont wait after a year or two when they are no longer available to cry out later why you didnt get stuffs that you could have acquired… Mawsworn Tmogs, Covenant Wings, Sylvanas’ quiver, Maw mount, Hand Mount, Box of Many Things special pet, etc.
It devalues nothing I have 20+ of them would absolutely encourage them to bring it back so others can get cool stuff too and maybe bring people back to the game.
Thats the problem, this doesn’t happen regularly and with the same quality, if the game had MT every xpac with new awesome skins then sure. But they don’t, besides PvP, but even PvP don’t have unique models, just unique recolors in terms of sets and weapons. There are very few FOMO rewards (which is a bad system by itself but lets ignore it for now).
Also there are already accomplishments that were devalued after the current xpac. It happens all the time. There are also other kinds of transmogs that, for no apparent reason, were not FOMO, like Green fire from Locks, some achievements like raid and dungeons, etc.
Its just an arbitrary choice which has no value anymore.
A promise in good faith from a company means something to me.
I won’t argue about a lack of awesome skins, because I agree with you. There should be more opportunities to earn more things. Absolutely. I don’t agree with going back on something with the playerbase. I even agree that recolours of the original mage tower appearances would be good. But just not the original colours.
One your on Ragnaros. That’s your gatekeeping problem right there. Mage tower doesn’t fall under that since they always said it won’t come back. That means there is no gate to open or shut you just missed out. And if you just started playing wow before shadowlands only reason you even know of them is all the whiny people that want it back crying about it constantly.
The new exclusive item is so desirable that the players complaining they can’t get the original appearances will now complain they can’t get that new item too.
The item is so undesirable that the players it is given to after the fact never use it. They feel cheated that they worked hard for something that was changed, something they would not have worked that hard to earn if it had been the reward at the time.
Yeah, i get it, one guild might have worked hard to get a glory of a certain raid, but now i can just go there and solo all ICC and get the dragon mount from the achievement.
