I got my mage tower appearance on my dk back in legion. I understand blizzard’s position of not bring back the “real” mage tower experience, I get their point of view. But in my personal opinion I truly do not care/do not mind if they brought back the mage tower in full and allowed people to get the appearances again.
I never understood the whole time limited prestige thing in video games . In the grand scheme of things it seems so minor, so tiny. If they brought back the mage tower in full and people started to earn the appearances, to me that doesn’t diminish what I did on my dk back in legion. But that is just my point of view.
both your comments are ridiculous. my point was they already have, and have had a whole swath of get it before its gone stuff, that has very little impact to the customization and look of characters. My point is that if I am looking for a specific color or weapon style, I should only be limited on my ability to get the drop or earn it as a reward.
But I guess I have already spent more energy that I should trying to justify this to the folks who are very clearly in opposition to others having the opportunity to earn something in the game.
The main reason I posted this was because a while ago, I was told by a GM in reply to a ticket I logged that the forums are the best way to let Blizz know how you feel about something. So that’s what brought me here in the first place.
I don’t care what others say outside of who you are replying to.
But calling someone self centered of someone who displays (which is literally everyone in gaming, let’s be honest) isn’t derogatory and you are jumping to conclusions on the person being hostile.
Still isn’t derogatory.
Peexee was pretty spot on with the reasoning. Everything else is you for judging but
The real question is: Is it worth devaluing the items people already have so that those that missed out can have it too?
I guess that depends on wether or not you currently hold the value. If I have $20 and you don’t, you’d probably vote that we split the $20, and I’d vote against it.
These are things that add value to things in the game, and therefore they also drive desirability.
Nobody cares about things that are ubiquitous, which is why the new drood skin is referred to as n00bbear…there will be nothing special about it at all.
As I said, text can be hard to convey. But reading the rest of the response is fairly hostile for not being derogatory.
Either way, it’s also 8am so if I made a mistake, I made a mistake and I’m fine owning up to it. Just pretty tired of people being rude to either side, even if I do it myself sometimes. I’m happy to be called out on it when I do.
that would require an item to have value in the first place, since the appearances can’t be sold, traded ect it’s impossible for it to have a value of anything but zero.
I was told that if I wanted to share feedback, the best way to do it was to start a thread on the forums. So that is what I did. Sorry if that is against some rules. I went almost 15 years before ever posting on the forums because forums feel like such an antiquated way to interact. But here we are.
I think you miss the point that the challenge is still there. People would still have to earn it now. No one is asking for them to just give us the appearances. Some of us would like to actually go through the challenges and earn them. It’s not like they were only available for one patch–people could go back at the end of the xpac and get them when they were really over geared. Doesn’t that fly in the face of your achievement arguement?
Penny or hundred dollar bill it’s either yours or it isn’t. In this case it’s their exclusive item. It was promised to people who did the content and they did it with that understanding.
You don’t get to tell people they shouldn’t care if you take it from them.
And No, I wasn’t here during legion and I don’t have them.
Liquidity is not value, but they are related concepts. And value isn’t always correlated to currency.
The item has a relative value because people want it. And value is directly proportional to scarcity.
Take the tree mount for example. Great mount. Unique model, seasonal changes, mount special, the whole 9. Very cool. Extremely low value because everyone has it.
I do my best to remain civil when I’m met with civility! And I believe you and I have talked plenty, so I know you’re someone to always maintain a quality discussion with!
I’d say I need a coffee, but I don’t drink it. So I’ll go find something else that can maybe wake me up better.
It doesn’t. It was challenging at the end for plenty of people still, and we were given a heads up and time limit. I operated in that expansion based on that, and for them to go back on that word means that my effort was pointless as I could have simply waited until now. Regardless of challenging or not again, I’m happy the current rewards are for everyone and not some people.
Though they should have done weapon recolors, I think they screwed up there. I don’t know if we needed another recolor of an already remastered set. I would much prefer another color of each weapon, but I’m content with their middle ground.
