New heritage sets! Yay! Why do they look like trash?

Seriously. I have played a draenei since TBC launched way back in ye olden times. I love the race, I loved all the jokes (even the one that seems to have gotten removed), and just like that the Alliance finally got a big beefy race.
Setting aside that the LF draenei were a copout of an allied race and should’ve just been new cosmetic options let’s talk about the topic at hand.

That heritage armor. Why does it look like some lost draenei hobo was digging through the trash and found some scraps and slapped them together? What even is that armor? I have never seen any draenei in the game wear that armor. It doesn’t even match any previously released concept art of the draenei. Where’s the love, Blizz? Where’s the freaking love?

I don’t even play troll and I can recognize y’all got shafted on that set too. With such awesome cosmetics, the night elf heritage armor, the dark iron heritage armor and several other sets that just look awesome why did we get completely screwed on ours? Makes me just not even care to do the quest.

I think they’re fine. Head piece for trolls is bad, but they are getting two additional head cosmetics, which will hopefully be the standard troll face scarf.

Like others I don’t like the troll mask. I really don’t care for the draenei heritage armor but most like will do the questline eventually.

Not a fan of a lot of the set, but it has strong mix and match potential. The helmet is a total loss, but so are 95% of helmets in this game.

I’d like the whole thing much more without the big gem in the chest.

Lightforged won the Heritage Set contest. I think their’s is one of the best overall. However it has very little moduler appeal. That wierd mahogany red/brown color between the gold is just so unlike almost anything else in the game. The shade of gold too is very hard to match to anything else.

My only problem with the Draenei set is that it doesn’t have a version with green crystals for the Man’ari Draenei :frowning:

The draenei heritage helm cuts off your horns, which seems a bit lazy. Or did they fix that?

*the troll mask is a bit hard to talk with, but the rest ain’t bad… now the draenei, yeah they got the short-end.

Be thankful you didn’t play a Vulpera. Their armor is the werst out of everyone.

If I was designing their gear I would have given them a long dust jacket coat. Goggles to protect their eyes from the sand. Heavy looking boots and gloves to wear.

Maybe one day Blizz will go back and fix it.

Oh man. The headpiece for troll is what I’m most excited for. It looks like a certain someone with one arm.

90% of the Troll one looks great.

Its just that hammock of a helmet.

His looked alot better than what we got.

I’m more curious about the temple of Telhamat (as the attire is named after) since the threat of the Bonechewer Clan is nearby. :crystal_ball::robot:

It doesn’t though, and that’s the problem. Zul’jin’s mask, just like Sen’jin’s, was a simple bit of cloth that hangs around the mouth, and most importantly sits below the nose. They made that heritage mask hang from the nose, on a race of people with tusks. It looks like an elephant!

I’m pretty sure they just flipped through a book of draenei names and locations and picked whatever their thumb was on when it stopped.

We’ll see what the story is. What was the name on the second set?

Discounting the face sock, I think both sets are well-done, beautifully detailed and, overall, very nice.

Just not for heritage armor.

Is there a draenei in-game that wears anything like that? I mean it’s pretty and unique but it doesn’t say draenei to me.

As for the troll one, where are the skulls?

I can kinda see that they were going for the TBC concept art for Draenei and if they had gone all in with that, that would’ve been a nice-looking set but as OP said the set looks like something you would see one of those hobos in the lower city wearing.

I like the idea of heritage armours but all I have seen so far have “issues” so at the most some pieces of them ever get used. The quests to obtain them however has so far been good. As a general rule I also avoid outfits with “oversized everything”.

Yeah, the old TBC concept art that embraces their nomadic nature? That looked cool. They should’ve gone all in with that, even if it meant not giving it a helmet at all, but the way this came out is just poop.

I actually really liked the night elf set. It looks like the sentinels and the one from the OG cinematic except that they made it PG by unskimpifying it. I also love that they made a new color variant for Amirdrassil.
