Which could also apply to the character models. It’s obviously not happening at this point but I just find the double standards on this forum quite hilarious. Add in completely new water textures and dynamic shadows and no one bats an eye. Ask for the option to use the new models and everybody loses their minds.
Get over yourself dude. Personally, I don’t give a crap. If there was a way that I do not have to download them at all (wasted space) then I wouldn’t care. But Blizzard doesn’t do client files that you don’t have to download, or you can patch in by choice (like Linux packages). They just lump everything together.
I personally wouldn’t use the new models because the cast animations are atrocious… So why should I have gigabytes of garbage forced down my throat on my gaming laptops?
In any case, “It’s not happening” wasn’t meant to be a d*ck statement. It was simply a matter of truth. It’s not, go check the client.
When they are THIS close to finishing up the client, and are rushing around debugging for the next 2-3 months, do you honestly think they are going to sit around wasting time trying to get a toggle to work? If you’re honest with yourself, the answer is clearly no. That means any posts asking for something they know isn’t in, and isn’t going in, is a clear troll post.
Its not even remotely the same thing. Intentionally adding something that wasn’t an option is night and day different from an unavoidable addition (improved water) that can’t be changed due to the programming that is enabling the entire project. Would most people prefer water being the same, grass not moving, and blob shadows? Of course. But if those options can’t be restricted, then while unfortunate, its not a dealbreaker.
Stop pretending its the same.
All said, I’m glad the team working on this realizes this, and are doing the best they can to make it as accurate as possible. Shadows, water, and moving grass, shrug it is what it is. Hopefully they can find a way to restrict those graphic improvements, but if they can’t because of the programming, I’m not going to sweat it.
Well. I would take this argument gladly. And I would gladly wait till they WOULD develop those new new models. I agree they could get them done better. But again. I’m 80% sure that this will not be done, cause people like those above will just “muh vanilla” them over and over.
But if they state that they WILL do that in futurish-soon™ I’m both hands for what you are describing.
It’s just the lowest chance possible that this will be done.
New models are exact what Blizzard’s art director them want to be. But they aren’t what people expect. Cause the lowest the graphics the lowest the polycount, the more you IMAGINE how your character face/look like. Where there are no details, you can’t focus on them. Since they are absent and those details your brain creating for you. In new models details are present but they are different in comparison of what your brain imagined. I also don’t like a lot in new models (like NE male round neck and roundness of their every muscles. BUT. I do love new models MORE than old models. Cause old models are outdated. animations are dull and clunky, they aren’t lively enough to make me want to believe that those characters are alive. When in new models even hairs are animated and emotions are presented which is superb.
Lol. I want to play Calssic. I don’t want to play Retail models. Are you daft. Why is this so hard to understand for you and people like you that by making toggle button not you not other people like you losing NOTHING AT ALL? WHY? Why are you so stubborn? Why don’t you go and whine about new water, new colorblind mode, new UI graphics, NEW details on terrain and rendering distance? These wasn’t in vanilla, then why you don’t care about it? Cause you don’t see it if you don’t’ want to see it. It’s just a toggleable options which doesn’t touch your peepee AT ALL.
THis so SOOOOO DUMB. That I can’t even fathom the level of the thought YOU GAVE HERE.
How is the a quality of the water is programming restriction? When You clearly can just lower the graphics to bring it back to old water.
And you see it and everybody see it and they can turn it off, and nobody care. But the moment someone talking about some option for personal ONLY use — you all “muh vanilla” whole thread.
The hypocricity in this thread is ludicrous.
The new models are the art directors vision for retail wow in 2019.
Are they re-releasing Retail wow? No? It’s 2004 Classic they are re-releasing?
In that case, were these new models in Vanilla? No? Okay, I think we’re done here. Have fun with retail if a lack of new models will break the game for you.
If it doesn’t, I’ll see you in Classic, in all your low polygon glory.
New models weren’t in vanilla, deal with it or don’t. I don’t care. They won’t be in the game, thats it. We’re done here, and all the typing in the world to the contrary about this won’t get them added.
WHere some other stuff that NOW in calssic was in vanilla? NO! But it is in classic now and will be there. And you can TURN IT OFF.
But moreover you SEE and EXPERIENCE those changes yourself. Cause they exist for everyone. Models in other hands if they make this toggle as in Legion it will be visible ONLY FOR ME, not for you. So you and your experience has nothing to do with it whatsoever.
WHY. HTIS. IS. SO. HARD. TO. UNDERSTAND.
This is ultra garbage argument. Those are completely different games.
You are talking about NEXT part of the series. Wow isn’t a series of a game. It’s a WHOLE game. ONE game.
Again. There are a lot of stuff that NOW in classic wasn’t in vanilla. Stuff that doesn’t break anything balancewise, that you can turn off if you don’t like it. And you seems okay with it (as you stated before). So why this is different? All i see from you and people like you “MUH VHANEREEEE” argument which already become stupid meme-counterargument for itself. Only one person brought ONE valid argument against adding new models to the client of classic. And even this valid argument critically depends on desired future which is unknown thus be irrelevant at this moment.
Not you nor your allies didn’t bring any valid points against this option, in contrast of other options that are already in game.
If enough people who wait classic tell them about it, it’s their job to at least consider it.
Also You don’t know if this hard or not. You are not blizzard employee you aren’t working on their client, you have no idea, it maybe just a copy-paste part of the code to make it work. IF there are problems with it being done on a code basis and timespend, then ofc I understand and will not push this. I want them to know that I’m, one of many people who LIKED to get this toggle. I’m not demand it I just freaking asking for it. And I don’t get ANY valid arguments except stupid “not vhanhalla” bching.
People like you only MAKING UP arguments on a spot. JUST TO PROVE A POINT THAT NOBODY NEEDS IT. Yet you all fail to do so.
Doesn’t really matter if it affects anyone or not. They’re going with classic exact. That means no new models. This would change the interface. That option of “New or old models” isn’t in the classic interface. So don’t pretend like you care that much. If you’re playing classic, you aren’t playing it for the character models.
No it isn’t. Because people don’t really care about character models. They just want to say “HAHA classic neckbeards! We got new models in! nya nya ni nya nya!! GET MAD!”.
New models won’t go in because it’s not worth the effort. Nobody is playing classic for new models.
You’re just upset. You want to feel like you can have an impact on the game. That’s all it is. People need the dopamine rush of being right on the internet.
