Oh I know…and I agree. If it’s who I think, they’re famous for it. Way too much time. Way too many throw away characters. All just to get some kind of giggles on the Wow forums. Of all places.
Yikes

Yikes
thank you for sharing this. People already shared same experience and concerns as yours. Same happened to me.
That’s why i brought such idea.
OP is crying over the idea of having any sort of consequences for their actions. That’s all this thread is about. They want to be as hateful and toxic as they please, with nobody able to tell who they really are.
I’m 100% for that and Btags will not expose people.
You are the only one that can expose your RL self. Don’t post your real name, where you live or anything about your RL self. Then you will have no problems.
It’s up to you to protect yourself.
And it’s working, which is the sad part.
Yeah, well, Blizzard knows a lot more information in relation to anonymous posting and sees the real problem with this idea, which is why they haven’t even thought of the idea in the first place.
BattleTags however, they are looking into it, just no ETA on when it will happen.
That is false and incorrect. I want to feel safe while posting my opinion. And not be stalked and harassed because of it here and other social platforms.
If you dont want to be judged for your posts, being online isnt the place for you, mate.
wasn’t the pro-btag thread today removed while this one is still up?
i do not know how to bring this to you… but
blizzard stance on battle tags.
I’ve been posting on this character on the WoW forums for nearly 20 years now. I’ve never had any problems posting my opinion about anything. Which is a good thing or a bad thing depending on who you ask.
There was a new thread?
Yes and it was instantly flagged and deleted.
Never knew. But there could be a number of reasons why the thread probably got actioned, and it isn’t exactly limited to the topic itself.
It wouldnt greatly increase anything but toxicity and straight up wrong information spreading. Something people like you already do by posting on a level 10 alt.
That is equivocal to everyone wearing a mask and voice modulator in real life. No one would have a clue who they are talking to. It would be complete chaos in getting anything done. No one would be responsible for anything they say.
that’s clearly a statement from blizzard.
I understand part of your intent here, you believe this would make you safe or others. That is not what would happen however well intentioned you believe it would be.
If you really look at the forum as is it is actually one of the tamest places I’ve seen. The regulars, especially those of us who haven’t changed characters since they began posting, know each other. Some of us agree with each other, some of us don’t. That doesn’t mean we hate a person.
That said blocking a person is usually a last resort and actually the emotionally intelligent thing to do. Either that person is a trigger for me or talks about subjects I’m not interested in much to often. My list is three people. That is not rude, nor if someone has 20 people.
Most people here are respectful - really. Yeah, there’s the sparky comments and the every three, four day ignite the gunpowder, pull out the popcorn thread, but that doesn’t make for bad people. Rarely does anyone get targeted, just disagreed with - that’s when trouble can start. Just because you post anonymously doesn’t mean you will not be disagreed with - and if you want to argue back that’s your choice. And the consequences.
There are ways to disagree, like I am with you right now on your point, without making it personal. If you choose to make it personal then you must be ready for whatever comes next.
It’s a choice on how you want to communicate. Anonymously doesn’t change that.
i would agree 100%.
The well being of the forums?
You and the op sound weirdly similar me. Dracthyr that just came into the thread not that long ago…
Sus.
