You act like your profile has loads of identifying information.

Does it have your real name? Your address? Age? Gender?

No, it shows your FAKE character and what they’re wearing. It shows things you’ve collected IN GAME. It shows stats IN GAME.

There is not a single thing on your profile to identify who you are.

Reading this thread and talking with you & others yesterday I don’t believe this to be true. Most people on this thread, anyway, disagree with this idea.

Most like Ard are just one year and then I decide from there if I want to ignore for longer or permanatly.

Yeah, but we’re the evil stalkers for wanting, *checks notes*, reduced stalking with BTags.

You did have a good convo uesterday. Haven’t read everything that’s happened this morning though.

posting from this character is already a problem for pro-battle taggers. Because they ridicule characters lvl, armory, comments based solely of that. That’s why anonymouis posting would be great for players who want this to feel more safe.

Thanks for showing us a fine example of your rudeness once more.

Saracalia#1520 supports BattleTags for the WoW Forums.

They did try to implement realID and that was no beuno.

I think wow held out and embraced players posting as their in-game character(s) because wow has been very iconic in their faction identity from the beginning and their forum-philosophy is probably an extension of that identity.

Diablo doesn’t have that same kind of character investment that WoW did have - or still has - so using btag is more apropos there from the get-go. But here, characters become an extension of our digital-presence (and not to keep beating a dead charger, but going anonymous removes that identity. Going btag removes that, too, at least initially. But if we got the option to use btags while also choosing a character avatar to post from, maybe the loss of identity would be minimized?)

All good, TLDR is I linked some articles and some concerns regarding corn that would alert the FBI and doxing it if came here… was ignored.

Same ol’ same ol’

The thing is I linked articles for them to read that was for internet anon as a whole and they demanded things specifically for the wow forums and blizzard forums after asking for a sub based forum.

I’m sorry but the articles would apply to both of those and it was just a mess of them blowing off my valid questions.

Yes, true. that’s why b-tags never happening in WoW forums.

So you can continue with your trolling and harassment towards people who do not support it?

You do know the reason why nobody wanted RealID because nobody wanted there real life information spreaded across for a fantasy setting. BTags however are not real life info, nor related to RealID.

My thing with Anon posting how would it work around here? Would it just make 1 character anon and the person just has 1 anon they could use or would it be a toggle?

Like how would it work with the current system and tbh… it’s just been “anon posting” with “you’re a troll or stalker” and it’s a valid question.

How would it be implemented with the current system and or how would certain things like blocking and reporting work?
