New dungeon lore and classes

Death Magic seems to include Nature not just with the Drust but the Night Fae of Ardenweald too.

Death Magic doesn’t include Holy as far as we know(which might change depending on revelations concerning Xal’atath and Beledar).

As for what I suspect concerning Xal’atath and Beledar: When Alleria said “enough of your illusions Xal’atath” the Beledar immediately turned to it’s Holy phase suggesting she is the Beledar.

Furthermore the Elementals that Xal’atath utilizes(which use a purple version of the Death Elemental Model) use Death Bolts, Death Nova and Death Rain as attacks.

Xal’atath also had Domination Runes(the invention of the Primus) on her Dagger form.

If Xal’atath is infact an Eternal One imprisoned in the Beledar by the Primus(most likely the Winter Queen as the current one is the only one who doesn’t treat the other Eternal Ones as family) who had her eye captured and contained in a Dagger with Domination and is of Death then she utilizes Holy Death Magic visually indistinguishable yet fundamentally different from the Arathi’s Holy Light Magic they brought over from their Empire.

For Death it utilizes every School(Holy, Nature, Arcane, Shadow, Void, Necromancy and Cosmic) but Fel!

Hot Summer Day is Holy, Cold Winter Night is Void, Sin/Revendreth & Domination & Pain/Mawsworn are Shadow, Necrotic Energies is Necromancy, Twilight(what Ardenweald’s Magic is called by Spell Names) is Nature, Virtue/Bastion & Hyperlight(Broker Death Magic according to Spell names) is Arcane(according to Damage) and Automa Magic is Cosmic(according to Damage).

Holy Death Magic is the closest visually to Cosmic/True Death Magic just as Holy Light is closest to Cosmic/True Light.

The fact that all 6 Cosmic Forces have 6 Schools while leaving out a 7th(Fel in the case of Death and Order) suggests that the 7th School is the anomaly for each of them. The solution awaiting it’s opportunity! The 7th Covets what the other 6 hold fast! The fulcrum wanes. All will be undone!

Zovaal leaving a crack in Zereth Mortis will bring about Fel Death Magic! Fortunately Cosmic has a representative in the form of Pelagos so Fel will simply counter the Brokers(disrupting their business practices no doubt) just as the current Winter Queen’s Nature counters the Primus’s Necromancy, the Archon’s Virtue counters the Court of Harvesters’ Sin and Hot Summer Day counters Cold Winter Night.

Tenebrae my man, the rest of the Forsaken fans have come to terms with this. We rejected it at first too, but it’s the rules now. Blizzard changed everything to make Shadowlands as a concept even remotely function, and this is one part of its horrible legacy.

We deal with this by cursing Calia’s name, ignoring whatever worthless empty speeches about the power of hope that tend to fall out of her face, and use her as a shield, both figuratively and literally, if I could get away with it.

Trust in Belmont. The man survived Tyrande when Nathanos didn’t and this is what he told us to do.

People seriously need to get over this. I can understand someone not liking Calia, but the whole light undead thing just isn’t weird. It’s not. Not even a little. We’ve seen examples of undead raised by basically all other forms of magic. Didn’t one of the margraves even say that necromancy can be be preformed by any kind of magic?

You don’t like light based undead because they’re the polar opposite of Forsaken and you don’t want that in your race? Valid. Complaining that they’re some kind of lore abomination? Tiresome.

I do not like that woman Calia,

Her presence gives me Coprolalia,

I do not like her simplistic views,

I do not like the sermons she spews,

I do not like her dressed in all white,

I do not like her devotion to the Light,

The Council should have thrown her out,

That woman Calia can go and pout.

But it is located on the polar opposite side of the cosmology map.
The Drust also invade Ardenweald.
I don’t think that’s true. Death magic is something of its own. Like arcane. This is particularly evident in Exiles Reach.
Fae magic seems to be nature, Kyrian arcane, ven’thyr shadow, maldraxxus death/necromantic again, etc.

Everything else you wrote seems to be very speculative.

A kindred soul.
I had actually come to terms with it too.
But now it’s back on the table because of the new dungeon. There is going to be more of that!

Well, that’s because they are. People like you arrogantly put themselves on a higher step, but that only works because you ignore the arguments.

Necromancy itself is full of retcons, which lead to a slew of subsequent errors. But people act as if everything is flawless. That seems uncritical and dishonest.

She was first mentioned in Day of the Dragon. Long before Warcraft 3 even released. She is an older character then Arthas himself.

Ah, I stand corrected.
Although WarcraftWiki states that Arthas also appears in that novel.

I honestly dont remember if they did mention Arthas, I will check later.

There is no death without life, there is no life without death, life and death are cyclical. Thats why drust druidism also uses death magic, thats why ardenweald exists.

In the same fashion, sargeras, a titan of order can fill himself with disorder.

And the same way discipline priests wield light and shadow for the same goal.

The forces being opposite of each other doesn’t necessarily mean they’re disconnected, everything points out they actually need each other.

No. That’s wrong. The playable Drust Druids (Thornspeakers) don’t use death magic.

Druidism was the old ways of the Drust, from before the time of Gorak Tul.
Gorak Tul taught the Drust’s ancient death magic.

The Thornspeakers are those who didn’t join Gorak Tul.

Fae magic is nature.

They’re still the opposite and not the same.

He did but it was more a cameo. Basically Calia got into a big shouting match with King Terenas II about her arranged marriage to “Lord Daval Prestor”. Arthas came in to ask his sister what is wrong and she basically says, “when you marry someone, make sure it is for love”.

Knowing arthas and his fate years later makes that scene really sad and tragic

Yeah considering the girl of his dreams also happened to be the one he was arranged to marry. But it was not to be.

Ulfar, the last drust thornspeaker mentions how life and death are parts of the nature cycle, and how they are guardians of this balance. Keeper of the cycle.

Ardenweald is a realm in the shadowlands, every magic from the shadowlands is death magic, since it is powered by anima, Fae magic, Bastion magic, and so on.

The death magic we see that was wielded by the Lich king is just one of the forms death magic takes.

I just want to point out that that part was from Arthas’ book and not day of the dragon. In day of the dragon itself Arthas was briefly mentioned, he saw Daval Prestor and Terenas asked him to confirm Calia.

Did the Priory of the Sacred Flame and the Arathi there seemed less like a Light Supremacist and more of a “All must serve even in death so Re-Animate everyone rather than burn them!”

They also refer to the Priestess who sent us as having outlived her usefulness!

These guys are Cartoonish Supervillains!

It’s getting a little strange how they inconsistently present it though. Those guys we killed in the new dungeon didn’t decay that fast between their fights and the last boss to look so visibly undead and emaciated. I guess the light of beledar revives people into beef jerky if you’re too forceful?

Regardless it’s funny how the bad guys this time around are Military Fanatics(no better than the Scourge) rather than Religious Fanatics like the other Light Factions!

This time around we are on the side of those who see Undead as Heresy!

Thats literally the definition of fanatic

I just think it’s wild that there’s a whole dungeon about the Arathi church going crazy and raising people as holy undead and it’s just…not important at all to the story of the zone. You’re only led to that dungeon in one minor side quest in the zone and it’s not brought up anywhere else. It seems like something that should be a bigger deal!
