Just finished my “classic” experience and wow is it easy to forget just how many QoL improvements the game has had over the years.
Felt like I was playing back in 2008 all over again, but not in a good way.

Took me about 2 hours to complete the zone and earn the mount… but it was a SLLOOOWWWW two hours. It was mind boggling slow, by the end I was drinking vodka and banging my head with a brick wrapped with a lime.
This is honestly such a weird thing to be upset about. Retailers are going to roll a DK, which will barely see anything outside of the starting zone except a quick jaunt thru SW, never log in again, and you will not have even known they existed.
It affects classic players about as much as any other mount obtained in retail. Which is not at all.
And everyone had a DK alt in retail WotLK. The army of DKs afk in Shat and filling 75% of your AV games is exactly how it was back in the day.
I really don’t understand the salt here.

As a full time Classic player, no it does not.
Meaning removed items like Atiesh and Benediction would not be earned in Classic and become transmog in retail.
They did not once say they would not have a promotion to award a brand new item to Retail.

Same here. let the masses have their fun. Not like we didn’t see 20 DK’s since last week in AV per match. if they even stay for that bit.
the best ones I call pinball matches. dudes…I just got gripped between 4 dk’s.

Tried it on retail using Unholy…got enough Scarlet skulls to get another few bottles of Noth’s brew. So twenty plus. Funny thing is at that level the white level poker you’re given for the quest is actually stronger than any 2hander heirloom meaning you tend to kill them pretty quickly with the 2hander poker.

the real sucky part about this mount tho is doing the mind numbingly boring questing zone that is the starter zone.

I just made my dk in Classic and had a blast doing the story and I got the mount in retail.
The mount is awesome looking and well worth making a new dk in classic to get it.
It was a great idea for Blizzard to do, and it’s celebrating the upcoming Lich King expansion in classic. People will complain for complain’s sake about every thing Blizzard does won’t they. It’s just pathetic.

Child I played in WotLK, don’t try to tell me what it was like. It was not meaningful. Everyone had a DK.

So to get the mount I just play wrath classic, make a dk, do the quest or whatever and thats it? I just want the mount lol.
