Did you even read the article? Most likely a revamped starter zone. Risen after the 4th war by Bolvar.
The lich king was raising new death knights until his fall in 3.3.
Draenei were on azeroth for BC and beginning of wrath. He raised them then. Goblin/Worgen have been around for awhile. Goblin were introduced in Wc2 well before Arthas and Worgen were introduced in classic.
If you thought the lich king only rose the dead during the third war, you haven’t been paying attention to the lore. Which means you don’t get the right to complain about it.
I think it will mean that there were be two of them. Once for the first generation races and another for the second who are being raised by the Bolvar.
Sorry, I mean those raised by Arthas and those by Bolvar. Those raised by Arthas would still use their starter zone and quest line and the new ones could have their own. This way we still have a distinction and we don’t lose the legacy of the Arthas era ones.
If I may place my tin-foil Helm of Domination on for a second…
Maybe the “everyone dies” leak is not as far off as was once believed. Maybe the end of BfA does end with loads of death. Then, maybe whatever entity that caused that death seeks to subjugate the dead for their own nefarious purpose. Until Bolvar shows up and throws a wrench in those plans by raising a new generation of undead out of the fallen.
Sounds absurd, but really absurd is what Blizz should stick with. Subtle is not their strong suit.
These weapons share the same ilvl as the DK starting weapons currently obtainable. To me this seems to be further evicende of a revamp of the DK starter zone. If they were purely for transmog they’d be flagged as cosmetic and wouldn’t have stats.
Some have also brought up the possibility that the 4th fiery one is implying a 4th spec. I am skeptical of that but thought I should mention it none the less. It should be noted that Bolvar is a smoldering corpse.
What I don’t understand is why would this be datamined for 8.3? Personally I’m leaning toward the theory that this is a disguise for players while interacting with Bolvar undercover.
Remember every DK has unique VO’s for /silly /flirt etc. Not to mention the grunts and such. That’s a lot of work just to add a class to every race for reasons.
If they were going to all the effort of revamping the DK experience, wouldn’t they do that in 9.0?
I’m sure it is a 9.0 feature. Some things from the next expansion are added in the later patches of an expansion. A lot of iron horde assets were datamined in 5.4. It’s pretty par for the course for blizzard.
Okay but why would they need new physical assets for that? They don’t even need the eyes because some helmets give that eye glow. It’s a waste of resources. Wayyyy too much work for one quest, or a questline where we interact, or work with Bolvar. Also wouldn’t explain these swords which have the Ilvl and stats of the swords in the current DK scenario. It is clearly intended for a level 55-60.
Massively, MASSIVELY incorrect. Demon hunters have 100% unique /silly and /flirt. DKs only have a voice modulator. Which doesn’t require anything to be re-recorded. It’s just a program they apply to the pre-existing recording. The NPCS of all races share the same voice lines iirc regardless of race. Only gender difference. The voice would be the easiest. The undead skin tones would be the hardest.
If you think BFA is “silly” you haven’t been paying attention. Thus your opinion is dismissed. I don’t agree with every aspect of BFA. But it’s no more or less “silly” than any other expansion.
