whoa what an outrageous bet, a player may log in later
Oh I’ve definitely seen a lot of multi-boxing going on. It’s ridiculous. Like one of the first quests as a dwarf where you’re picking up items for Felix the gnome, I stood there and watched a line of 10 characters, all with one letter differences in their name, looting the items one after another and had to just wait for all 10 to finish because even spam clicking as fast as I could, it wouldn’t beat their auto clicking. But since they’re actually “playing” the accounts and actively respond to whispers from GMs, there’s nothing to be done about it but just stand back and watch it happen. Though I will report the bejeezus out of any of them that try to skin my kills. That’s my mf leather.
I do not doubt this one bit. I was trying to approach it in a way that doesn’t imply they’re doing anything nefarious because I try to see the good in people first, but I’m not at all shocked that it could be something awfully shady driving their complaints.
People can still trade to you.
You do realize that you can actually catch a suspension for reporting people excessively when they’re not breaking the rules, right? Just because you don’t agree with them doesn’t mean they’re trolling, or even that they’re wrong. Especially when you would need to be betting on Blizzard agreeing with you against a policy they implemented to stop gold farmers and bots.
Again the herd of donkeys gather to hijack the thread and spread misinformation. This thread isn’t about your suspicion of gold sellers / bots / futbut alts/ multi boxers. It’s about bringing awareness to an issue bigger than your carrots. I am starting to think you donkeys are the gold sellers trying to cannon fodder this thread so that Blizzard doesn’t fix it. Clearly this is affecting real players, just 3 hours ago in this thread Loftus said her whole family was affected, and just after Werner said he saw it happen to someone in Onlyfangs. This issue is affecting thousands of players, stop hijacking the thread with misinformation.
Yeah, there could have been a blue post on this. Since they had one for no gdkp to show that as a anti bot/rmt measure they were taking.
This to me feels like what the mob does when you borrow money.
Can you give me 10K till next week?
Yes I can…here you go, goes the loan shark.
Money taken, deal now sealed.
Then next week you go back and pay back 13K, 3k the surprise money you’d better have. The loan shark forgot to cover vig and points costs. Or assumed their new client knew that. Which tbf to the loan shark…is a fair assumption. If you can’t use banks for a loan, expect some strings attached.
Blizzard…just slapped this on out of nowhere.
The length of time needs fixing for real
Oh look another first hand account. About the 105th I’ve seen on the forums in the last 3 days. On top of hundreds of people in game.
And if we take that data and assume that most people are going to remain silent about this issue and quit, is how I get thousands. This is for the donkey @Everything who insulted my math skills.
Current player here, so I’ve not been impacted by the negative consequences of this policy. I recognize OP’s (and others) frustration. It doesn’t feel good when you are surprised by a new limitation on common features of the game. I absolutely hear that. I would go so far to say that Blizzard should highlight that information for impacted accounts before they click pay.
I also recognize that as a current player, there is little else more frustrating (at least for me) than an army of roBOTs impacting gameplay in whatever activity is being engaged e.g. economy, zone population, player interaction. etc. Returning players know this to be true, and new players… please don’t be turned off by a temporary limitation that will enhance your future game time.
In the interim, I hope everyone experiencing the lack of trade and capitalism can simply try to see the other side, take a breath, and just enjoy the game. There’s always ways to stockpile for your future goblin pile of gold or bank slots that can be filled for future use. 30 days can fly by if you let it, especially in the World of Warcraft.
the difference is that you knew you had that restriction going into it. y’know, the whole entire point of it being its own gamemode. nobody here cares about your hc ssf character. go seek attention elsewhere.
Not being able to trade or use the auction house is game breaking for the new player / returning players (who haven’t paid in 7 years). Some may choose to play out the 30 days and accept the fact that blizzard has griefed us for launch and phase 1 forcing us to play behind the pack. But I suspect many will quit because of these restrictions. I can’t even buy a wand or basic profession mats on the auction house, and can’t trade.
Blizzard could have made the limitations on accounts much more bearable for new players.
- Allow for small transaction trades
- Allow for small transaction Auction House sales
Not allowing your players to trade or use the auction house or send mail between their own characters for 30 days is unacceptable and quite frankly fraudulent business, I and many feel robbed by Blizzard.
having just entered this thread what really stands out is that you are one of those weirdo dragon boys
Just removed from dungeon group because I couldn’t trade water in group. HORRIBLE DESIGN Blizzard
Nertinster for the 107th first hand account. We have to keep a database around these parts because the donkeys don’t think any real players are being affected by these issues.
Its made guild life odd as hell too.
Can anyone hook me up!
I don’t know, can we. Are you a new account?
Yes
then the answer is no. game says no.
It gets funny in the spam guilds. At one point most of the people in mine were new day 1. A guild of mostly sefl found players! truly peak gaming there.
As it defeats one purpose of being in the guild. Like me and 10 people could trade and such. and the other 20+…can go pound sand.
I decided to play this game again after many many years of hiatus for the 20th anniversary edition. So far I’m loving it, except the part I can’t trade or use the AH.
Apparently the last time I played this game was so long ago, I get the same restriction as a new account. I agree that bots and spam should be stopped, but why am I being punished for subscribing WoW again? Seem stupid to me.
Right back at ya kiddo. Lol “Respecfully”. …
Here we go again, you speaking for others. I have never posted about this issue. Seems to me it’s more of a feature.
Duh, I told you it was edited. Hence the FIFY.
Good for you, that’s your choice. The players are not you, the world doesn’t revolve around you. They expected the normal play they experienced earlier.
GL getting new/returning players to stick around.
If you don’t mind, I would appreciate you posting in this thread as well, as I am trying to bring awareness to this issue.
As for your punishment, it has me bewildered that Blizzard is doing this to every single new player and returning player (who haven’t payed for subscription in the last 7 years).

Cant post on GD forums if you have account restrictions though. So OP most likely is not on a restricted account but is being treated as such by accident.
Post in CS forums and they can help.
