Whenever people tell me druid was bad in classic I love to point to this video

Honey Iâve been playing exclusively balance druid since before Moonkin existed. Did you even play WoW back then?
The reason people donât usually take Moonkin in PVP is because it shuts off access to half your abilities while providing little unique or personal value in return.
Of course you use the forms in PVP. You use cat for stealth and dash, thatâs kind of it though. You use bear form when youâre focused because bear form is kind of your only real option. Actually Iâd argue itâs a big problem with the druid PVP damage specs, theyâre easy to shut down because looking at them funny more or less forces them into bear form. Itâs part of the reason theyâre trash.
Anyway, you donât actually care about Druids using a sufficient percentage of their spellbook or whatever, you just want them to mostly play like a healer, itâs pretty obvious
Bumping my post because it got buried before it could shine and it has a lot of info in it.
This is why there is traditionally only one viable druid pvp spec in Era.
One. And it isnât deep balance.
Like this mediocre guy that thinks druid was bad despite allegedly playing it for 20 years lmfao
Its not the druid thats trash bud. Donât worry, starsurge will get nerfed eventually.
Very true. So, the logical move will be to nerf hunters.
At no point did I say Starsurge wouldnât be nerfed. I just think your assessment of what Druids need and how they should play is rooted in some pretty ancient biases that donât really have a place in SoD per the developerâs stated goals.
Yeah pressing more than 1 button, the ancient bias
lol, no. Iâve seen a number of your posts, and you have made the bad argument made by those before you, which iâm getting tired of reiterating. The whole âyouâre a HYBRID and a DRUID not a BALANCE DRUIDâ thing is so tired.
Is a druid hitting only starsurge against a lock? Priest? Mage? Rogue? Warrior? Paladin? Mirror?
Anything?
Considering the pve implications of nerfing the one ability thatâs keeping Druids relevant in content rn outside of the wrath rune, I feel like thereâs going to be a lot of starsurge threads going forward.
I think what youâre really saying is simply that youâre one of those druids that will show up to a PvP fight with an ally at like 20% health fighting an enemy thatâs 40% - and you legitimately believe the best course of action is to starsurge the 40% enemy instead of heal the 20% ally - âbEcAuSe iMa BarAncE drUdâ.
And then people probably note how profoundly stupid that is, which is why youâre projecting your weird âIM NOT A HEALER â narrative.
Just a guess.
Duplicate threads are being made ever day calm down.
lol, I think youâre arguing against the wrong thing. Like, whether or not Starsurge hits too hard is immaterial. Theyâd be saying the same thing if balance functioned in any way. If the damage on every ability was exactly the same, if all the damage was in DoTs, if all the damage was in Starfire, weâd be having the same discussion. Because they donât actually care about Starsurge, theyâre mad that Druids donât have to kite for 5 minutes and blow a bunch of engineering consumables to compete with a rogue and mage shadowboxing
Balance hits hard rn Iâll admit it doesnât feel good getting kited with literally nothing you can do but Iâm all for it as long as druids ally with Ret to stay relevant.
Eye. Roll.
No, Iâd probably heal them for like 25% of their health after 2 seconds of casting, watch the heal I just cast get burst through in a few seconds because I donât have resto druid throughput, and weâd lose anyway.
Okay this is true⌠but does it have to make the balance druid relevant in current content from 42 yards away???
How about it makes druids relevant from 24 yards away with a cast time of 1.5 so it still consumes the same time/GCD???
You can disagree but you will be revealing you actually are concerned with pvp in which case we have to ask why you are using PVE as a trojan horse instead of having a real discussion about pvp.
In PVP anything instant casting that hard from that far away is 1 of 3 things, a mage blowing big cooldowns, a hunter with a deadzone and other weaknesses, or a broken class that should have 1 of the 2 weaknesses the other guys have rolled into their class.
Blizzard doesnât care about PvP is my rebuttal.
My evidence: Retail
I think anyone going nuts about level 25 pvp is putting the cart before the horse.
I actually donât totally agree, we do all have to like, actually play this game for several phases. Level 60âs at least 6 months away.
