Bro it ALMOST hits(crit) that hard now, we have 15 levels and inflation of damage to consider.
TLDR AT BOTTOM
The damage of the spell:
-The base damage of the spell is basically 200 at top end
-With talents that would have brought that up to a 400 dmg crit while naked at lvl 25
-I’m under the impression that it scales 100% but could be 75-100%.
-I anticipate spell power is going up to around 200-250 as well, it could very easily go higher.
-At level 26 starfire does 177 top end
-At level 42 starfire does 348 top end
-It currently hits for 80% of the top end of pyroblast, which at 40(lvl 42) will be 400 dmg.
I would assume that starsurge will continue to hit harder than starfire, so an avg of 350 is close to what Stari said.
350+200 is a 550 non-crit or 1100 crit, for the sake of argument and applying some leeway to my argument let’s say it instead crits for a flat 1000 or even 900.
How much hp will we have:
A TBC/Classic twink at level 49(9 levels above phase 2) could have hp in the low 2000’s or as high as about 3200.
They had access to enchants we won’t see for 8 to 10 more months, if ever.
Level 40 we will probably see HP cap out at 2000 or 2300 at most with some gear.
Some math
-WoWhead gearplanner has a 49 human warrior at 1729 hp
-3200 minus 1729 is 1471
-shave off another 250 for enchants and you get 1221 bonus hp from level 49 gear
-A 40 human warrior has only 1189hp
If we have lvl 49 twink equivalent stamina on our gnomer gear at level 40, a warrior would probably have about 2410 hp, runes and enchants will move the needle depending on class.
If it trends even similarly to what it does now we will see it taking AT LEAST 1/3 of your hp on a crit, and it won’t be farfetched that for some people this 6 second cd from 42 yards is taking literally half of your hp on a crit.
TLDR
You will be lucky to have 2400 hp unbuffed if you picked a warrior equivalent class, squishies will have 2100. The spell will be critting for 800-1100+ in gnomer gear…
on a 6second cd…
from 42 yards…
