Nerf starsurge! this is a joke!

I don’t have any issue with starsurge existing conceptually. I think it being applied so far away, punching so hard, costing so little, having the cooldown it has, being instant cast and applying CC on top of all of this makes it a bit hard to stomach. I just wish it had some offset to balance it.

Where are you getting 44y on tauren?

The offset is the entirety of the balance kit. It is incredibly inefficient

And again, I think all of this disappears next phase.

Mage goes to frostbolt boomie, boomie casts starsurge, frost mage takes 690 crit and is stunned for 3 seconds.

Wait a minute, are you suggesting these highly skilled players are just rerolling to whatever class is the easiest with their 2+ months to get 25 levels?

Druid is also a hard counter to mage.

I think the guy’s point had more to do with frost and how its talents provide massive power to a single ability in an already stellar kit

With all the gap closers I don’t think mage gonna be that great unless they get like rune of deep freeze.

Frostbite procs so regularly in pretty much every fight against melee.

At most, ice block will simply have to be pressed once now to ensure a flawless victory

Ice Barrier alternatives are in your future.

The way I look at this is that starsurge is part of what makes balance strong in PVP while they are still weak in PVE. Because of this I think that the class is balanced and a nerf to this ability with out anything that would either maintain their status in PVP or boost them up in PVE would not be warranted.

Dudes can charge and intercept in any stance and it removes slows and you can do them in combat.

Warrior would hard counter mage if they could throw a sword every 6 seconds from 42 yards away, the ability is busted, and even more busted when you give it to druids.

Stop pretending you aren’t spamming it from max range and running until people die, druids are like hunters they have less buttons than fingers that they have to press to be extremely deadly, esp with all the SP in BFD.

Before, you could beat warriors while being 15 levels lower without being hit.

I beat a Naxx geared warrior on my 49 mage…and it wasn’t even close

Druid countered mage at baseline.

And I truly think this power falls off come p2. You’ll be so preoccupied by warrior, rogue, pally, lock, shaman and mage power you’ll forget about druids

How hard to you think star surge is going to hit for at 40? That’s really the only question that matters in this discussion.

Not sure, tbh. But the increased health pools will certainly improve the situation. Most people are walking around with 1k or less HP. So everything that lands hard is a problem.

Just look at the diff in Sunfire from when we started to where we are now. That little bit of gear and hp diff rendered all of that initial complaining moot. I suspect the same will happen between 25-40 with starsurge. I see this being more of a spell you use to create opportunity and provide consistent pressure moving forward

base damage will be around 310-369. Assuming Moonfury, 341-405. It’s hard to know how much spell damage everyone will have at 40, but assuming my current gear (~109 arcane), 450-515ish.
