Nerf Mage Tower now or I unsub

Shadowlands was like the dream expac for the top 1% (in terms of gear acquisition, not secondary powers), and look at what a huge failure it was in terms of sub numbers.

9.2 is not going to be any better, because casuals are only going to get movement speed bonuses in the new zone as opposed to the gear that they can usually get at the end of an expac.

SL devs just keep wrecking that same train because they let themselves be manipulated by the top 1%, most of whom are so addicted to WoW that they will play the game regardless of whether or not casuals can earn cosmetic and power rewards outside of instanced group content.

Same, canceled my sub this morning citing this crap as 100% the final straw and pointing out that playing a game shouldn’t feel like being in an abusive relationship

I canceled my sub, too, and haven’t been playing the game. My personal time is worth more than the sub time I left, if the devs literally can’t design or tune any content for the bottom 99% of the playerbase.

In the original Legion Mage Towers, I found Resto Shaman to be one of the easier specs for the healing challenge, because of its diverse toolkit and how its Mastery worked.

Now, devs have manipulated the challenge for Resto to punish them for their toolkit.

For sure, the healing challenge is not like actual healing in endgame content at all, it is like a minigame that you have to play with a UI that is not meant for it.

Okay bro they just nerfed it, now it’s even harder.

I think I am actually having an anuerism… I have tried and tired but I do not have scale from DoS so I dont have that dmg. I also do not have the pvp gear.
I’ve spent loads of gold on this.
I know wtf to do, but I keep dying at 10%~ because RNG infernals and waves pushing me around…
I also do not have 1k+ dps.

This is horrible, its 100% an anbusive relationship cause its not tuned for 99% of the playerbase and people with bad RNG.

Yeah nah. They have time to clobber trinkets but not nerf the mob hp for the guardian druid encounter. Unsubbed and staying that way until I hear that it’s fixed.

I’ve also done the boomy one. I can’t imagine these are as bad as you guys are making it out to be. Just practice…

Honestly I’m shocked that it still hasn’t been hotfixed yet.

I think I would have to say that if your statement was remotely accurate about players resubbing or sticking around solely for Timewalking Mage Tower from 2 expansions ago is literally all that is keeping at least some players bothering then that is so so SO much more significant of an issue than anything else this thread has to offer.

I don’t debate there is SOME truth to it but I just really hope it isn’t even 50% accurate but if it was, that’s such a powerful representation of the bigger issues.

Its like someone with an addiction who…just can’t be helped and can’t hear you no matter what you say or do. Is what it is…just watch the downward spiral and see where rock bottom truly is. Watch it all burn…

Not meant as an attack on you just an interesting concept to think about.

One guy out of millions, who probably has spent every waking hour at his keyboard since this was released.

Not going to say “easy”, but the boomy one is definitely one of the more reasonable ones.

Practice is not going to be enough for most players when learning mechanics is not enough, due to the numerical tuning.

I beat MT today on my guardian druid. It was tough and took alot of tries but it is not impossible.

I’ve done the Arms Warrior, Fury Warrior, and BM challenges, twice.

Fury was free, let’s not pretend Imp Mother is hard. The first kill was 15 pulls, the Second kill was 6 pulls.

Arms is clearly overtuned, just because something is beatable, doesn’t mean it can’t be in a bad shape. I understand old gear, gems, certain enchants and etc that scale well provide an edge ( I beat the challenges I stated above with SL PvE gear from raiding/M+ just as an fyi ) but all the MT challenges were designed around what spells we had available and what power systems we had access to. We have none of those and none of the new things from SL either, you shouldn’t be punished for not having gear from Siege or gems from Mop in content from Legion that’s being rehashed.
(Btw the Arms Challenge took me 39 pulls first kill, 26 pulls the second. )

BM def has it the easiest out of their counterparts for their challenge and it was still a nightmare to juggle 3 different ways you can wipe, sometimes all happening at the same time. I personally don’t think your pet should be one shot, and thanks to the new long cast of pet revival, I can get silenced if in a bad situation. The Hitbox of the worm when he’s underground is wonky, new GCD system means if I’m one second late on a cast, I can lose 1/3 of my health or worse yet just die depending on which boss you kill first.
( 23 pulls first, 3 pulls second. )

I want the mage tower to be a challenge, but not something that makes my casual friends not want to keep trying, I want my friends and I to talk strats, make plans, maybe farm an old raid for random gear cause we wanna see how cheese we can get, etc. But imagine it being tuned to a point where if you’re legit not bashing your head against a wall for sometimes half a day or more in some players cases ( I’ve seen 10/10M raiders take 8 hours for a challenge ) that’s not okay.
Two weeks ( and in the future, one week ) for some people, in December of all months, is not enough, they’d have to nerf it to the point where boosted level 50s/60s who never played that class/spec to one shot their challenge but NONE of us want that and it’s sad we can never have a proper middle ground and have testing ignored as usual.

Mage tower and Legion m+ were staples of this patch. This expansion has been awful for casual players already. Mage tower should have been tuned around being a fun challenge for them. It wasn’t the players that did Mage tower in Legion asking for its return. Right now a lot of the challenges feel like you need to be a mythic raider to achieve (outside of fury warriors abusing crusader enchant.) Wow is bleeding subs already. Why spit in the face of the majority of the players that remain (casuals?) Mage tower should be nerfed to being about normal raid difficulty. Lfr raiders would find it a challenge they could realistically achieve after some practice. There is no reason it needs to remain this overtuned.
