https://www.wowhead.com/item=29532/drums-of-panic this is the item just so everyone knows. AOE fear, clicky.
This is all true if you want be in any half decent guild. Also the lw thing is a tryhard request it doesnt affect you at all, so chill out casual stop fighting against causes that you have nothing to do with.
That’s true of all professions, though. You’re basically just leveling the profession for whatever combat benefit it gives you.
Almost no one is actually going to benefit from what the profession offers outside of a couple items, e.g. Primal Mooncloth for tailoring, ring enchants from enchanting, etc.
Don’t join a serious guild.
It’s 80 Haste Rating. WTF are you even talking about?
Wrong, LW does nothing for you if you’re not rogue/hunter. Every other profession benefit the player instead of the raid, multiple sets and weapons you can only use by being a certain profession.
Or a Shaman or Feral Druid. That’s if you’re excluding the benefit of Drums, too, obviously.
How exactly is this a rebuttal of what I said? The only reason you’re picking a profession is the benefit it gives you in combat. Some professions have some sets that benefit your spec, sure… which is a benefit to you in combat, no?
The only way Leatherworking is unique is:
Which is arguably no different than engineering benefitting the raid with grenades and target dummies, alchemy benefitting the raid with potions and flasks, tailoring benefitting the raid with spellthreads, etc.
I don’t care what they do with drums. Only here to say that drums are a poor comparison to world buffs lol. A little bit of haste is nowhere as OP as stacking buffs.
A bunch of ignorant noobs who have no idea what they’re talking about think Drums give the same effect as Bloodlust/Heroism. They don’t realize it’s 80 Haste Rating, which is ~5% Haste.
Literally every guild on my server right now actually clearing content is recruiting more dps warriors for naxx, and many of those are recruiting more mages. Zero of them are taking more warlocks, or druids, and zero of them let you raid without wbuffs, unless it’s specifically a no buff run (which few guilds do).
Nothing like it, engineering has way more benefits than just raid utility it’s a perfect exemple of a useful profession that you have to bench in favor of leatherwork.
Exactly. Drums require coordination and contribute a bit of haste. Basic world buffs give the following benefits that all stack:
10% flat damage
15% melee haste
18% spell crit
10% melee and ranged crit
340 AP
15 to all attributes
15% to all attributes
15% to stamina
300 health
10 mp/5
10% movement speed
I don’t care if they nerf drums, but they’re nothing like the current meta.
It goes to show that some changes are good and this would be a very good change.
This whole no changes movement can gtfo.
Command does also, and command does holy damage and totally ignores armor. (Last I checked)
Last private server I played on has it wrong, but it’s also in 5.1 phase right now… so maybe they are progressing??
I mentioned that SOC scales off both.
Sorry missed that
But we’re clearly talking about raids. If you’re going to pick a profession solely for its benefit in raids, I sincerely doubt you care at all about the benefits outside of raid utility.
My bad, I forgot you can only have one profession.
Yeah this is what boggles me, we’re not talking some absurd amount of AP/Crit and gobs of base stats.
What exactly is your definition of “half decent” ? What I described was the super sweaty top 1% of players that tryhard and stack every world buff to clear raids in half an hour.
Leather working being the key to join a serious guild is toxic if you are not a leather class imo.
But actaully i didn’t realize drums was only 5% since I was just going off memory. I was thinking 15-20% like retail.
Yeah, honestly. It’s literally just a 5% haste buff, but people on this forum talk about it as if it’s some completely absolutely REQUIRED buff and literally every single guild will require all 25 raiders to be leatherworking…lol, no. Maybe at the top 1% of sweaty tryhards that is true, but not for the majority of the playerbase who is just trying to have a good time, instead of tryharding in a 15 year old game.
