Nerf leatherworking drums for TBC

no my perspective is wide open. Yours is narrow, I want us both to be able to play the game the way we enjoy. You want me to play it your way

Your fun is making it unfun for others. Blame the community for being toxic.

No its not. My fun is optional. If its affecting your fun its because you let it. Blame yourself

Lol. I don’t even get WB. I’m talking about the guilds that force people to come to raid with full WB or no loot. Or MT that have to spend time before every raid so they can keep threat. It also trivializes content that is already easy. This isn’t about me. It’s my observation of what WB have done to the raiding scene and it’s not good.

It’s not for anyone to believe.

You didn’t prove that I didn’t, either, so…

I will concede to the use of the phrase “good player”. I’ll re-word it to performing well/better. Then, again, you might twist that to mean “can’t perform well/better without X, Y and Z”, when that’s not the point. Comparing two DPSers, together, one with a Cloak, and the other without it, doesn’t mean the one with the Cloak is going to be the “better DPSer” merely because they have the Cloak.

Well then it means nothing to you that i do. Again my view is wide open and yours is narrow and trying to restrict others

Sure ignore the rest of what I wrote. I guess you’ve never heard of the term “unintended consequences”. As long as you get your benefit, then you couldn’t care less about the effect on the community.

Well you wrote nothing of meaning

Its pretty black and white

Do i want how you play and find enjoyment to be removed?

No

Do you want how i play and find enjoyment to be removed?

Yes

You are willing to make selfish choices to benefit yourself. You remind me of the people who hate LFR. You could opt out and just not take part in it, but you have to be childish and ask for others to have their fun ruined to conform to you

My point was that having played Mists, anyone without a cloak beating anyone with a cloak was playing against people entirely asleep at the wheel or doing something so beyond the scope of their class that they might as well have been a Warrior assigned to raid healing with bandages.

It unquestionably does unless again, you’re having to set the bar so incredibly low that we’re wondering if you’ve AFK’d mid boss fight or not. Gear makes the player, and proper grouping makes the success. The cloaks gave free power by simply being somewhat engaged in combat. Someone screwing up their rotation would be compensated and them some by it compared to not having one at all and a picture perfect rotation. Further, the legendary line in Mists was more than just a cloak.

Put very simply, claiming to be excellent at something but lacking any of the substance, strength, agility, or endurance to actually do it means jack all. No one much cares about your flawless form when you’re up to bat when you lack the strength or reaction time to actually crush a fast ball. There’s no value in toothless perfection.

If Classic was the current version of WoW, the game developers would have changed them to the extent they are being abused. What’s wrong with players for asking the same? It’s not about selfish, it’s about what makes a good game. Playing with cheat mode can be fun, but this isn’t a solo game. Sometimes you have to remove choice from players to make the quality of the game better.

Whether or not you agree WB is good or bad, the argument still stands. Player choice isn’t always good for game quality.

Well if you want all those changes they did make a version with them

As much as i crap on Blizzard im very thankful they ignored the small gaggle of people crying over optional gameplay mechanics and let those of us who wanted and enjoy classic to have it as close as they could create it. Obviously there is no recreating the playerbase and only a total fool would make changes trying to force them

I hope they continue ignoring these same people crying over optional mechanics and let those of us who actually want TBC to enjoy it vs those that just want their narrow version of TBC+

Slicy speak with forked tongue lol.

People didn’t WB in orignal Vanilla except the world first guilds in Naxx. There was some FR buffing in UBRS in Vanilla, but it’s no where close to how they are being used now. We also have the most nerfed versions of the bosses in Classic.

By getting world buffs, you aren’t getting the true classic experience because people didn’t do that. So I find it odd that you say you wanted as close to the original experience as possible, but go out of your way to make your raiding experience as un-vanilla like as possible.

addressed it

We’re saying the same thing but different.

No, it doesn’t. Simply by having Gear doesn’t magically make you a “good player”. Underperformance can still happen with the Cloak. Simply having the Cloak doesn’t consistently make you perform/overperform. The skill of the player is within themselves and not the Gear they’re wearing.

This is incorrect. No amount of skill lets you hit harder or do more DPS when you lack anything to power it.

Gear is the baseline, without it you’re not really even potentially a good player.

Completely disagree. People said before classic came out they were looking forward to living the orignal vanilla experience. Yet when classic comes out, the majority of guilds WB for every raid, very un-vanilla like behavior.

If systems are in place that are abusable, players will abuse it. Especially now that most players are much more savvy. It’s up to the game developers to determine if that is good for the game or not.

The players in this forum can voice their opinion but it’s ultimately up to them if they want to act or not act.

Disagree away. If you think this is the same playerbase as 15 years ago then idk what to tell you

No point in pretending they are and no point in trying to force them to be. Just drop the game and let people enjoy it

To some degree (not all of it) it’s acceptable to have sub-par Gear. It isn’t necessary nor required to have THE Gear (as in the top tier). I’m not getting the sense the game was designed in order to whack Raids with THE Gear. It’s still possible to clear them with the “lesser” Gear.
