Teldrassil was also not even 30 years old when it burned down so I really don’t understand the point of this statement. It was less than 10 in Vanilla (which hasn’t grown since). Last I checked, several hundred foot trees also don’t grow in that short of time either.
Hell, what happened to “death to the scourge! and death to the living!” forsaken?
As for orcs, thrall and baine happened…i hope we can leave those two at the maw for good.
Blood elves, lor’themar was forced into a 100year honeymoon with thalisra and left his 9yo UwU niece in charge…maybe?
dont get me started on the trolls…they’re called headhunters for a reason…or do they only shrink heads of garlic nowadays?
They are trying to make the genocidal faction an honored faction. Now we have the alliance and the red alliance lol
So are all new toons going to start off in the new starting zone? Or is it just going to be first toons on new accounts?
There is an invasion (solo, part of storyline) that shows the Horde being aggressive with their plague spreaders spraying goo everywhere. Unless they’re scrapping entire quest chains, and rewriting huge chunks of invasions … not to mention what happened in Brennadam … there’s no way they can maintain that whitewashing.
Oof. Not even a retcon. That is pure shoehorned tactics, and rarely anything comes good from them.
It’s not the whitewashing and rewriting that bothers me the most in my honest opinion. It is the fact that if they are trying to white wash like this so much do they even have the story all planned out? Because this just reads like they have no clue what they are doing to me.
Are they gonna leave “cannibalize” in and claim its just recycling? or replace with it with a mushroom pick animation?
From what they’ve said, NEW accounts will have to do the new starter zone, then off to BfA.
Pre-existing accounts will be able to choose where their toons start and then at level 10 what expansion they want to play in.
I know right? Plus BFA leads into Shadowlands as an expansion and the War of Thorns is used as the (plot justifier) of Shadowlands, we have a Sylvanas model wearing The Jailer’s standard just like many other Maw minions we’ve also seen, and supposedly the tree was really burned down to speed up The Jailer’s escape by feeding him several thousand more souls than would have usually been sent to The Maw naturally. How will the plot of SL even work now? We have even seen MODELS of the Night elves’ souls fused into monstrous amalgamates in the Maw, the cat’s out of the bag on this one for most players.
There IS one way it could work. It’s really stretching it however.
The new starter zone has some kind of magic voodoo that brings old Horde and Alliance champions back from the dead and they have this twisted and incorrect version of history. IE they’ve been lied to by the ‘leaders’ on the new starter zone. Then they’ll leave the new zone, enter BfA content and realize they’ve been scammed.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand this. Then again, I’m low level.
Is Blizzard attempting to…undo the burning of Teldressil or create an alternate timeline AKA JJ Abrams Style?
It seems they’re trying so hard to erase BFA: reps, pathfinder, and now this? What a joke.
Horde confirmed communist scum. Just erase that picture of the burnt tree, and it was just zombies taking a vacation in spooky woods.
With each expansion I wonder more and more why I bother to play any of my Night Elves. I’m fine with Teldrassil burning and all, that’s story development, but trying to wash away that genocide so that the opposite faction doesn’t have to feel bad?
That isn’t development, it’s laziness. Too be polite about it.
Well, it’s a good thing I love me some Gnomes and Goblins, maybe I’ll make more. Hmm, and I really like the Kul Tiran models, and since they’re Human I don’t foresee Blizzard trying to wishy washy them away any time soon.
Perhaps? To be honest we really have no clue, but it does seem like they want to make it where it never happened.
Don’t worry nelves! You’ll always have a home with the Illidari!
/Holds fire poker behind back.
They absolutely do not, no. This has been apparent for close to a decade now.
Okay, but what does this mean for those cut scenes that mention it? I just watched a week ago a cinematic about the
spolier alert
Armstice being signed and the end of the Fourth War. Tyrande won’t have anything to do with it unless the Armstice is signed in Sylvanas’s blood. Her statement makes no sense if there’s a rollback in canon.
This druid’s head is starting to hurt.
Probably gonna be written off as some mass hallucination caused by said H.P. Lovecraft clone and in reality was a small accident that got out of control (i.e: burning lantern fell and caught certain cliche mcguffins on fire.) But still need to fuel faction war, so make certain key Alliance leaders blame horde cause (loose reasons).
Though it is a minor blip in the entire story as a whole, it is a lot of rewriting of events afterwards.
