I really wish I had an answer for you. Only thing I can say is we’ll all just have to wait & see.
It’s okay. I appreciate you trying to clear things up. Wait and see it is then!
I adore the works of H.P. Lovecraft, please don’t bring him into this. He at least understood how to tell a story and narrate it well.
Blizzard does realize the Nelf genocide is what kicked off BFA that led to Shadowlands?..
lol what a bunch of cry babies in this thread. You guys apparently can not read worth crap. This is no surprise to you alliance mains out there, you could never understand anything but to you horde mains out there shame on you i expected better.
This link in no way shows that the genocide didn’t happen or retconned. If anything its a cover up. Just like how the USA doesnt talk about how we F’ed up in viatnam. No one denies we f’ed up but we dont bring it up at all nor do people like to talk about it. We just pretend it didn’t happen while knowing it did.
Fake news! Jaina touched Thrall’s arm, we’re all good now. It was all N’zoth.
Hey, look it’s Wration!
I’m over here tirelessly striving to protect the living SMH
I was gonna go for Tiananmen Square.
As well as shove a giant middle finger in the faces of a portion of the Forsaken player base.
You want your Undead character to be an anti-hero who is untrusting of the living? Too bad, because the devs say that you have to be some kind of Undead superhero who has vowed to defend all life like you’re a member of the Justice League or something.
No villainy or anti-heroism allowed!
Seriously, though, the writing reads like a bad knockoff of a comic book series or something.
On a side note, how is this even going to work with the inclusion of Sandfury skin tones for Trolls?
This feels icky. This feels like a country trying to erase and bury something terrible they did from history.
No wonder the Horde’s flag is red.
It means they’re purposely leaving out crucial information of a disaster in the story to new players so they’ll never know it happens unless they looked up the lore themselves.
This is the devs purposely trying to hide the wrong The Horde did to new players, so The Horde looks better and more appealing.
Looks less appealing to me, but i guess im weird like that.
(Commentary): . . .
(Error): Vocal Modulator appears to be malfunctioning.
I’m glad to see that people are just as disturbed by this as I am.
If they try to go all Holocaust denial on us, I’m going to start wondering if the devs aren’t closeted WW2 Axis sympathizers.
Not a good look Blizz, not a good look at all.
What’s next, the Ministry of Truth issuing the next Newspeak Doublethink? This gaslighting won’t work, we were there. We saw what happened.
Genuinely torn. I now don’t know which is stupider, burning a major city that’s existed since alpha because “morally gray,” or rendering said burning a non-issue one expansion later. Love how they’re trying to humanize the undead, “they are protectors of the living.” If we learned one thing in BfA, it’s that undead are the enemies of life itself and cannot be trusted around the living. Or not, as apparently now they are noble protectors of said living. My head hurts.
I’d go further to say it’s a lack of foresight and possibly talent on the writers’ part. The amount of backpedaling they’ve done in regards to the story events and pretty much everything that happened in BfA is laughable. If they didn’t want the Horde to be seen as villains, why did they write the burning of Teldrassil that way in the first place? If they didn’t want a huge chunk of the player base to dislike Sylvanas, why did they write her as a mustache-twirling Mary Sue in recent years?
And why take away what little player choice there is in this game to railroad everyone into fitting a specific role? (i.e. Everyone has to be a hero even if some players wanted to be anti-heroes after BfA, Sylvanas loyalists canonically no longer get to distinguish themselves as loyalists, the Forsaken suddenly have amnesia about “Beware the living!” and instead now support the living, etc.)
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they actually didn’t have any in-house writers anymore and just outsourced their story plots to random fan fiction authors.
I can’t wait. You’ll soon hear the foreseen say “For the living”. LoL
But i want to be evil. Especially on forsaken. Has blizzard CURRENT LORE TEAM even played Tirisfal quests, both in vanilla and cataclysm they are super edgy and vile. STOP KILLING RACE FANTASY.
