Also, for millennials who don’t know who Neil Young is, he was Kurt Cobain’s primary musical influence. Kurt frequently shared his favorite line from the Young song “Hey, Hey, My, My” which was “It’s better to burn out than to fade away.”
He quoted it so often that, to this day, some people still credit the line to Cobain himself.
That was my question. The thing is A LOT of these older musician celebrities have been heavily involved in politics from the 1960’s (when I was born so I recognize the names) - others, more current or through time have taken on pet projects quietly, and sometimes loudly when need be, so being involved now isn’t what bothers me at all. Just in this particular case if it was a big issue to the gentleman why didn’t you say something before?
My guess is not enough clout, but apparently owning something that has to do with Microsoft does give him the clout now and that’s why he’s saying something. Yeah, I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.
The first post is from a made up satirical story and a large part of the follow up posts are from people who are simply accepting it as true because they have now seen it on the internet.
I’m too tired to look into it, lots of stupid things happening so whatever…
That he’s a has been. I thought I made my point clear. You seem triggered… that you like such a lame artist…
When you look 120 yrs old and still try to stay relevant, it starts to kind of erase that ‘legacy’. Learn to know when to stop.
So my point flew over your head, got it.
Yeah, I know, I’m really tired of your snarky remarks, but I guess you feel triggered that someone doesn’t like your beloved Neil.
If it is then sure. You wrote that already.
For who, the 10 people that still are alive to remember Neil, grow up.
Don’t make me laugh. Spotify have other issues, this Rogan thing is a non issue for the majority that use spotify, 99% of them probably have no idea who tf even is Neil to begin with.
Hey dum dum, I didn’t look if it was satire.
Lots of people have others making games and all sortsa things for them that they put their name on. You are regurgitating a point to prop yourself up. Try not being so triggered by a has been artist that majority of this world couldn’t give a toss about.
Cobain would probably punch you for saying that, but he’s been dead a long time, so I doubt you have much to worry about. Your opinion is an uninformed and unrealistic one, but you’re entitled to it. Neither Neil nor Kurt are in any position to care.
Seems it’s a satire article it seems [guess I was too tired to notice with all the stupid things happening in the world]
Frankly I just am tired of his whole Spotify garbage he started and thought people would care apart from the 20 people who follow him still living in Arkansas or something lol
Cobain was probably the most talented and influential musicians in his day, and still to this day tbh. Young made a few good hits. While I am sure Cobain wouldn’t like me saying it, the perspective is still valid.
Cobain is forever idolized in music, young was forgotten until recently.
The only difference between them is generational. You think Young is the lesser artist because you didn’t experience his decades of pioneering music. Neither did I, which is why I don’t really listen to him. But I’m aware of the contributions he made to music, and they’re every bit as impressive as the contributions Cobain made. I don’t like comparing different people, but I think Neil would have been proud of Kurt, and I doubt Kurt ever saw himself as Neil Young’s equal.
As I said, you’re entitled to your opinion. It doesn’t hurt anyone for you to crap all over Neil’s career because he’s already a legendary artist in the same vein as Johnny Cash and Phil Collins. No longer “relevant,” but responsible for an enduring discography that reshaped the landscape of popular music. Kurt Cobain did this as well.
Comparing the two is sort of like comparing the French Revolution to the American Revolution. Both brought about radical change and made enormous historical impacts, but they were relevant to different populations and the way that they happened and played out were completely different as well.
Have no idea about Spotify garbage. Just grew up on hearing his name and quite a few songs. In fact when I saw the article my first thought was, “this dude’s still alive?” Lol
I don’t know who follows whom on what platform, and honestly don’t care. It’s not real. People are, and the choices they make, and how they stand for those choices.
There’s no saints in this world, or companies, or business industries. There’s mostly good people trying to do the right thing.
Everyone’s a skeptic too. Just as entitled … to their opinion.
To me, classic rock is one of those genres that is immediately associated with boomers trying to stay relevant and cool. Meanwhile, every other generation is just cringing their brains in embarrassment for their parents / grandparents.
Very much so, and I agree on that. However, I would agree the Americans received much more out of their revolution then the French did from theirs. Haha.
