You also can’t do crafting orders from warbanks. It’s likely a design issue, and cs would not be privy.
I was just thinking about this and wondering if it was related. Very annoying to go to the bank and GET the mats out to do Patron crafting orders
Hopefully that one improves over time.
I would expect that this would have been a design goal but they couldn’t figure out how to implement it in the initial deployment.
A lot of stuff in TWW has been like that.
Them not caving to every customer’s demands is not them not caring. They care very much and try to help out, but they can only go by what is allowed by their tools and management. What those tools are has indeed changed throughout the years, as any business customer service has.
Sometimes “no, we can’t do that” is simply the only answer available.
Usually if u send in a ticket and explain that u have the gold to buy a token. You just need to get into game long enuff to do so. Blizzard will usually give u a 24 hour extension I had to do this a couple times over the course of my playing. Just explain that u need to log in long enuff to move gold from ur warbank to ur character in order to buy a token.
A guild bank is shared among everyone in the guild. The system doesn’t know if it’s a personal guild. But the Warband belongs to one customer, so I don’t think it’s the same thing.
I just don’t understand why they would specifically program the Warband bank to not be included in the gold pool for game time token purchases. Perhaps a GM could move the gold from the Warband bank to a particular character, thus allowing for a token purchase from the character select screen. All that gold belongs to that particular account holder after all.
I know you know where to submit your suggestions and feedback.
They don’t do that. They’re not going to move a player’s gold around.
To my knowledge, the gold has to come from one server still, and warbanks are an account wide, but not necessarily server based.
Maybe it can be added later, until then it won’t.
What suggestions? I simple expressed curiosity as to why they designed the Warbank not to be accessible for game time token purchases. Especially since it seems one of the great features of the Warbank is to consolidate gold from multiple servers. The devs try to be transparent about a lot of game design decisions. I thought maybe someone knew the reason behind this one.
Wait… you can’t have characters from different servers in your Warband and contributing to your Warbank? I’ll check again tonight, but I’m pretty sure I have a Warband with characters from different servers. Could be mistaken, though. I’ll check.

If there is something gold sellers would love the most is finding a way to not pay for the game to illegally sell large sums of gold for real money.
Customer Support likely doesn’t have that information.
Did they say that was the reason? Using the Warbank would facilitate the purchase of game time tokens. I’m not certain how this helps gold sellers using stolen accounts, but I’m not a gold seller. If the account is already active, they’re gonna steal all the gold, gear, etc. and start their ad spam and phishing scams until the account gets locked down. I suppose if it’s inactive AND has a bunch of gold in the Warbank, then they could activate the account and steal all of the shiny things and do all of the naughty things, so that might make sense. So I guess it’s one of those “this is why we can’t have nice things” situations. Too bad.

You mean the moderators? Possibly not. Or my fellow players who frequent this forum?I was just wondering if perhaps the reason behind this decision had been offered and maybe someone here had seen it and could share that information.

Warbands and banks are account wide, right.
They’re not server specific. Gold for game time tokens are, server specific.
So I cannot have characters from different servers in the same Warband?
Every WoW license (in same region) on your Battle Net account is part of your Warband. It is not split up by server. But the character screen is license separated.
Unless you are thinking that those 4 slots at the top of the character screen somehow encompasses your Warband. That is not your Warband, it is merely a favorites group. Every character you see in that character list, that is your Warband for that specific license.
I have characters across multiple servers and multiple licenses. All the characters in this region can access the Warband bank, including its contents and gold.
But regardless of that, they cannot currently use gold stored in the Warband Bank to purchase a Token. The gold needs to be on a character in order to be able to resub at the character screen. Hence, the reason you see this message.
You quoted the answer to the first time you asked the question.
Perhaps a second time: Yes you can have chars from different realms in the Warband. All characters (in the same region) across an entire Battlenet account are in the Warband.
Unless you are thinking that those 4 slots at the top of the character screen somehow encompasses your Warband. That is not your Warband, it is merely a favorites list.
Just want to highlight this. The four chars in the Favorites is just UI flavor. They don’t serve any purpose except to appear in the camp scene.
Unless you are thinking that those 4 slots at the top of the character screen
Um… that might be exactly what I was thinking. Oops.
I have characters across multiple servers and multiple licenses. All the characters in this region can access the Warband bank, including its contents and gold.
So this can be a means for getting gold from a character on Server A to a character on Server B. As well as from License WoW1 to License WoW2. That’s definitely a nice change to the internal economy. And this would allow for gold collection onto a single Server to purchase a game time token. So if that’s the case, maybe they would allow for gold within the Warbank to be used directly rather than the extra steps of deposit-withdraw, especially for lapsed subscribers who don’t even have the option to do the withrawal. Anyway, I was just curious if anyone knew for certain the reason they chose to design it that way.

Correct.
