Need to purchase game time with gold, all my funds are in the warband bank

I generally keep all my gold in the warband bank at this point to stock pile for when I’m broke. My game time ran out and with the warband bank being a very new feature, I had EVERYTHING in there but cannot use it on a wow coin. I tried to get on a level 10 but with the level cap I cannot transfer gold to it to buy time. Unsure what to do

You’ll want to fund the account, that won’t pull out of the Warbank bank.

How so? I’m not entirely sure what you mean

The system won’t pull from the warbank, it pulls from the toons themselves. Given the fact you put all your funds in the warbank, it can’t pull the gold for a token at all. You’d need to find another way to add funds to it to get a token.

Buy some game time from the Blizzard store. If your gold is in the warbank, it cannot used to buy a token, also I think the Warbank is not available to players that are in freebie mode.

damn, i’m broke that is sorta the issue

It is. I even opened it on a game with lapsed time. I’ve used it to store gold from my level 20 characters.

Edit:
You can’t withdraw enough gold on a lapsed account. You are limited to 1000 gold per character.

oh so the level 20 cap will allow me to have 200k?

No, there’s a limit of 1k on a unfunded account.

1K not 200K per character.

Can level sub-20 players still get on and open warbank? Use that since game is still free to play to level 20 unless Warbank is blocked without active subscription

Yes I have put almost 10k into my warbank… As a free to play account.
You can only have 1k on you, unless you have time on. Then you can have as much as you want on them. When time runs out you can still have as much, but can add no more.
To answer below post.
No you can just move the 1k or less to the warbank. Thus make more on that toon.
Just put it in that bank.

Hmmm that sucks. With 1k limit per character, you’d need 200 new characters, each with 1k to get enough to buy the token.

It may be possible to ask the GM or go in customer support section and ask for 1 day game time so you can log in and pull the gold out to buy a token and use that to get your 30 days. I’ve heard of this happening.

That was never common, Nerrus - but it’s very rare anymore.

If putting gold in the warbank makes it unavailable, why do it?

For folks who want to move gold/items between toons without the need to mail them or between servers.

As stated, you can only have 1,000 gold on a character that’s doesn’t have game time. Putting the 1,000 gold into the warbank allows the character to start collecting more gold, plus it would be available for other licenses on the BNet account that may have game time.

Also to note, when we say “unavailable”, we mean unavailable to use for the purchasing of a WoW Token with gold from the character select screen. It’s still available to characters on that license under 20, provided that character doesn’t have 1,000 gold in their bags already.

Try withdrawing the gold from the warbank on the toon that is going to purchase the game time.

There isn’t a reason given. Likely the same reason that you can’t access the warbank on two accounts at once. To minimize the chance of glitches, exploits, etc.

It seems pretty obvious. It’s the same reason you can’t fund tokens from a personal guild bank. To buy a token, the gold is pulled from characters. Gold being held in a warbank or guild bank isn’t being held by a character.
