it makes sense from a player perspective, in terms of optimizing the number of times you would have to run the raid/dungeon/whatever. but for Blizzard, they want you participating more, because it keeps you subscribed. And they want the better players carrying the lesser ones in things like LFR, because otherwise folks just complain when they can’t be successful. If the better geared/skilled folks carry them, then blizz can just ignore tuning the LFR version. Less work on their part, less time/effort committed to LFR.
See, I thought WoD nearly killed the game by removing flying.
Or by making everyone live in garrisons instead of the city.
Or by not getting post-launch content outside of raids.
Or by having a lack of world content.
Or by making you do the proving grounds to do random heroics.
WoD did a lot wrong.
And even as stubborn as the devs are, they knew that they had to make Legion the polar opposite to keep this game from sinking.
We went from having zero end-game progression outside organized raiding, to having entirely new open world and 5-man dungeon progression systems.
LFR gear rewards in Legion included tier bonuses and appearances, as well as the occasional legendary dropping for free and fully upgraded. LFR was worth doing again.
good chance it has the stats they want and the item currently equip does not
It is pretty annoying for us who ONLY does LFR and never do dungeons or anything else to gear up our toons. It has to come something that compares the items you are wearing, or have in your bags or bank, to the loot drop and that you cannot need on things in LFR if you have better just for MOG.
This has to change!
And we can see with the upgrade system that they want to no longer incentivize people to run content well below what they are capable of.
As to your point, LFR will go back to being worthless for solo players again, since Delves are coming in TWW.
The only good way to make that change is to remove the incentive for people who can comfortably farm N/H to enter LFR in the 1st place.
Nope. Works Fine. Its LFR Loot.
- Hitting Need makes items BoP.
- Hitting the Transmog button is a roll for a copied cosmetic version of the same item.
- Bring back master loot for guild groups only.
So instead of hitting need on the item and selling it, they’re getting the item anyway and selling it. It solves nothing.
Heck no. All of mine have gone way faster than with PL.
I honestly can’t tell whether you are being sarcastic here or failing to understand how the non-hardcore playerbase behaves.
Ever since 10.1, players have been running easy content repeatedly for direct Crest and Flightstone drops in addition to the Vault tokens.
By contrast, in 10.0, all you could get from LFR (or other easier content) was the actual gear, which was low item level and couldn’t even be upgraded. There were also no upgrade currencies and I don’t think the Vault tokens were as useful as they are now because you couldn’t buy Drake or Wyrm Crests.
Hardcore players can easily do higher difficulty levels for better gear drops and higher currencies, but open world, solo, and casual players might opt to stop doing content altogether if they can’t get upgrades from it.
For these categories of players, LFR in 10.1 and 10.2 never stops offering player power. Devs must have realized this and implemented the upgrade system to keep metrics high. I can easily get into LFR now at any time of the week even as DPS.
I can only hope this will happen.
They won the roll though, it’s their item.
If you actually want the raid type of experience, delves aren’t bringing that to the table. Seems like they’ll be worth 1 run a week for the top loot then about as good as they rest of the open world stuff.
I can only hope this will happen.
WoD nearly killed this game by making LFR so pointless.
Sounds like you are rooting for the game to die, in which case you should stop giving it money.
If you actually want the raid type of experience, delves aren’t bringing that to the table.
I want something like Horrific Visions, Torghast (with gear), or follower dungeons, not necessarily raiding.
Seems like they’ll be worth 1 run a week for the top loot then about as good as they rest of the open world stuff.
1 piece of randomized loot per week from a full item table means that you will quickly amass dupes and go the whole season without earning a full set. If it’s only going to be 1 piece per week, a vendor system would be much better.
I have multiple toons running all Emerald Dream content for 3 caches per week, and some of them are still only at 7/9 or 8/9 for the gear set. This would be much worse if only 1 cache per week.
Sounds like you are rooting for the game to die, in which case you should stop giving it money.
No, I just want the organized raiding elitism to die so that other content for players can thrive.
Raiding being the best way to gear hasn’t been the case since Warlords or maybe Legion.
That talking point is so far outdated that it’s no longer worth giving the time of day.
Even if the gear only sold for 2 gold, some people would still click need because you are just a stranger to them, the only link being that you play the same video game. Do you give a homeless person a few bucks because you are both human?
players should be allowed to gear up through LFR
No one is saying otherwise.
No, it’s the devs fault for re-implementing Group Loot, which is less efficient for unorganized raiding.
It’s literally the same thing with better droprates if you’d actually read their breakdown.
You could easily walk out of a full clear of LFR with multiple pieces per week.
I never once walked out of LFR with multiple pieces and rarely got anything in a full clear.
I don’t know where you people come up with this stuff.
I don’t know where you people come up with this stuff.
As with most things about the state of cooperative content from this poster, the posterior.
Simple fix is for them to give us the transmog for any lower item level version of what you have equipped. You have fully upgraded hero shoulders? You now have the lfr and normal transmog as well.
