They have had a good PVP since mists of pandaria
PvP seems like it’s in a very bad place.
Personally, I view wow as a pve game and never PvP unless I’m forced to to get some reward I want.
I play overwatch if I want to PvP. I like that the play experience is designed to be a level playing field. Every toon has a counter and player skill always carries the day.
Getting wow PvP right with all the classes, races, skills, and gear seems impossible. If I have enough gear and pals I will always stomp you no matter how good you are. I think for many this kind of PvP is off putting.
Where did I say that
It did feel crazy barren, but sharding was doing some crazy things. Even in a party, I would phase in and out with other members.
Plus, there just seems like there is nothing to do except grinding dailies there … I went to the Vol’dun assault afterwards and there were so many more people and much more even sided fighting. Had a lot more fun there than in any of the new zones so far.
“You” being the Horde in general
And everywhere
My guild was warning people off of Warmode last night because Horde were camping the major quest givers. Folks were zoning in one-by-one and getting casually deleted by a Horde raid so more or less everyone turned it off.
Not much reason to turn it back on once you’re in Nazjatar/Mechagon because the only thing worth grinding at the moment is rep, which isn’t affected by the WM bonus.
Cross-faction instanced content is probably the only way. People aren’t going to pay to switch and Horde players also seem to be emotionally invested in their faction.
Can confirm this. There was hardly any Horde in the zone at all and a raid formed by a PvPer fell apart rapidly when people wanted to argue with him while we were heavily outnumbered.
I don’t know what they’re doing for the PvP event, but it’s not working in the slightest.
You guys understand that if allies don’t turn on war mode, for whatever reason, then there is no balance right?
Like you can’t balance 100 of something against 25 of its opposite.
The only practical answer would be to have one balanced shard and the remainder be empty of opposition.
Dont worry when AOO shows up with a 415 item next week you will see Alliance everywhere …
I don’t think they have CRZ enabled in that content. All I have seen is players from my own server and the connected one.
That is why it feel emptier.
I am sure if you asked the “25”, they would be fine with that and those on the “unopposed” shard really wouldn’t notice a difference anyways.
I saw tons of alliance with warmode off. People everywhere from both factions.
CRZ is enabled in Nazjatar. I saw alliance from dozens of servers there. The place was very crowded and had to fit for tags on mobs in different areas. Only we didn’t have war mode on.
Saw very few Horde though. Maybe 50 total.
WPvP could be faction based still or it could be an all out brawl mode of mercenaries (aka Timeless Isle Censer of Eternal Agony like). If I’m going to be honest, implementing Mercenary Mode in PvP makes absolutely no sense because that is the actual Faction War gameplay. So why they won’t implement Mercenary Mode in PvE, the mode where we work together 99% of the time to defeat the big bad, is beyond me.
Racials should not become OP to get folks to transfer to the opposing faction. I don’t know the remedy of this issue, but that isn’t it.
My only idea off the top of my head is that they no longer go with Alliance and Horde, but instead implement a system similar to Scryers and Aldor for Horde and Alliance players.
We might see more WPvP going on once people burn through the story. I attacked any alliance I saw in the zone but that is just me. Once the intro quests are done and people are farming pearls we will probably see more action going on
It has to be something with war mode sharding specifically because I did nazjatar on 3 characters but with no-war mode and it looked pretty even between horde and ally walking around.
Plus alot of people prolly just want to finish the quests w/o being stopped 800 times. That might also have a contribution.
I was there about 6 hours after the servers went up and there was very few people there as well. People on guild chat were commenting about it, someone said they are all in mechagon.
Maybe they originally had it on but turned it off. This morning both places so far only my server.
So at the first point OP brought up, people last night were literally just forming 40mans and then doing the event. If you were on the other side of one of those, its gonna be a bad time. I don’t think its so much of a population imbalance as it is a bad side affect of the grouping mechanic.
Reroll alliance stop being a bandwagon player. Until then why would any sane alliance player do war mode when there is no fair means to play. Inb4 complaining that we need extra reward to incentivize that type of play activity. Practically everyone that has cared to partake in world pvp and that cares about min-maxing has rolled horde. You fairweather players have played your hand and have exhausted the prey population by shifting most of the predators to one faction.
Like a bunch of wolves with nothing to eat. Enjoy starving because of your own ineptitude.
-Subs don’t matter
-Who cares if people quit, theyll be back, game will live forever
-I play my own game, I dont care about others
These are all the arguments I hear when we discuss the state of the game and people leaving. Willful belief that it doesn’t matter has led to this point, and it’ll take an attitude adjustment to fix it.
