I’ve used crafts and rep items as well in my actual build. Here let me go over what my gear is.
Helm - Arcane - Shielded Helm
Gems: 32 stam 2% incrased armor value and 24 Stam
Enchant: 37 Stam 20 def
I have the crafted helm as well, but I wanted the dodge rating on this helm over the added def of the crafted helm since I’m at Def cap
Neck - Chained Military Gorget
Shoulders - Pauldrons of the Colossus
Gem: 8def 12 stam
Back - Tattered Castle Drape - I took this over the epic because Im already expertise capped and wanted the block vlue
Enchant: +12 Def
so far on the itemisation im not done yet, missing gems and enchants. and i have 22k hp and its all blues from heroic drops, titan crafts and rep cant wait ot be done
Nax is a joke. The blue gear from leveling through quests is literally just about enough. With exception to a few classes. Edit - the exception being the need for MP5.
Well you’re under hit, you’re under expertise cap, you’re WAY uner def cap, your dodge, parry, and block are well below mine. And your block value is literally 1/2 of what mine is.
The classic community is far more toxic and gatekeepy than the community of original WoW ever was. These people have somehow convinced themselves that WoW was this hardcore elitist game that it never was.
Once again smooth brainer taking things out of context.
In the context of the conversation, we were talking about people expecting to run Nax TODAY. And the OP was talking about getting gatekept because they are in questing gear.
To that my reply was, if you’re expecting to run week 1 nax, and push content that fast, and you’re not pre raid or close to it, then you’re doing it wrong. Because it literally took me 7 hours at level 80 to get Full pre raid gear. Minues the sword and neck. “I like how you conveniantly left out the part where I said you could be short 1 or 2 items”
It literally only takes 2 heroic lockouts to get the rep you need for your gear, for your helm enchant, all the badges you need for vendor gear, and 15 shy of your neck. And to get that you just farm up some daily heroics/normals and you will have that.
And again, i never said it’s REQUIRED, just that it’s easy and not time consuming to get.
Retail is the same way. It’s a huge turnoff to old and new players alike.

People are far more picky these days and would rather wait an hour plus for what they want and risk not doing the content at all just to save some time.
I mean, you can either form a group fast and slowly clear or you can take your time finding really geared people and clear it fast.
Both are valid strats. It’s all about preference I guess.
First - your block value is only 550. That’s Way WAY too low. You’re going to take way too much damage and your SoR is going to be garbage.
Your armor is 3000 armor low, so once again you’re going to be getting hit harder because of lack of armor and block value.
Like I said previously, you’re not going to get Hit, Expertise, and Def capped while still maintaining the 1300 block value that you sould have for mitigation. And I was right.
My active mitigation is better, my hit points are higher, my passive mitigation is better, my threat is higher.
I would not want to use your gear set at all. And the fact that you even posted that shows a CLEAR lack of understanding on how pally tanks work.
Last night I logged in to check out the new mount for leveling the death knight. I was actually sad.

I dunno man… Made me wonder what the hell I’m doing leveling in classic again… FOR THE 3rd time. I mean, all the achievements etc are on the retail side. So is the beauty. LOL.
I actually missed retail for a bit last night when I looked at that damn mount. Glorious.
