It would have been all sorts of dumb not to land the killing blow. Nathanos in Shadowlands is the last thing on anyone’s mind, who cares if he’s by his “lovers” side or not?

He is that kind of character, and if he comes back in shadowlands as a raid or dungeon boss, he will die doing the exact same type of dialogue

lmao I’m actually a bit satisfied with how Nathanos was handled. Not an ounce of fear, no begging for his life, sword at his throat and all he can do is taunt Tyrande. He died fighting and I can decently happy with that.
Best part his death might have accomplished NOTHING! lol
Rather than “She dumped you?” perhaps a more fitting line she could have said would be “She never loved you.”

I’m so relived and pleased with this cinematic. It showcased how strong Tyrande has gotten and how unbothered Blightcaller is. It reminds me of the Forsaken in Elegy and Sira who is 100% unnerved in the face of death while delivering some top notched grade A taunts.
Well, guess I’m on the Tyrande hype train now.

How about giving Night Elves a meaningful victory, so far they have been nothing but pawns in Sylvanas and Nathanos game.
And this as revenge feels very very underwhelming, because it’s essentially meaningless.
Night Elves literally whined in the first fight that Tyrande should have straight up murdered Nathanos. Then when she actually does just that, it’s still not good enough. Do you think if Nathanos died in their first fight he wouldn’t have given Tyrande the verbal equivalent of the middle finger?
This just proves that certain players were never going to be happy, regardless of how it turned out.

Any attempt at a “meaningful victory” would be immediately torn apart by angry night elf fans complaining they didn’t win it fast enough or 1 npc survived or X Y and Z reasons that it actually doesn’t count. Cause it never counts.
Sorry, not buying it. This is not a satisfying revenge for Teldrassil, and Horde players don’t get to decide what is just because it suits them. Sylvanas has to die, and not on her own conditions. Sending Nathanos to the maw while he mocks us for the annihilation of our race is not revenge.
Tyrande doesnt know that Sylvanas is “With someone” and she definetly doesnt know jack squat about the Jailer existing etc. Noone knows anything bar Bolvar at this point.

Nathanos has failed Sylvanas a few times now. He failed to kill Bwonsamdi, he was easily defeated in the plaguelands. He lost a Val’kyr at Darkshore.
