I know Nathanos got himself killed on purpose to join Sylvanas in the Shadowlands and we played right into his plans. It doesn’t matter. I’m just going to take satisfaction in finally getting to kill him. You have to be able to enjoy what you can. Otherwise, you’re just going to be miserable.
Well, it DOES also clearly establish that her power is growing . So his being able to stand up to her at Darkshore was likely more to do with the fact that she had JUST become the NW.
Yes…it’d make so more sense if, right in the middle, the 4D chess plot they’ve been telling for the last 3 years just stopped and never went anywhere.
How is it pointless? We dont know what happens to him in SL just yet. Honestly his whole “I am going to see my lady” again feels like the raving of a lost man. Didnt Shadow Rising basically imply Slyvanas has tossed Nathanos aside?
Tyrande’s cinematic model looks so good in these cutscenes, Elune damn! That extra tone and muscle really works well for her. Without him getting juiced up by Primes, she predictably just bodied Nate. Nate was still a depressing snark machine with a stellar VA. And a select group of Alliance and NE players are insufferable whiners like always. Good times.
Isn’t the fact he’s dead a pretty big deal, because he’s stuck in the Shadowlands now? People seem to kinda be brushing over him dying, but it means he can’t return to Azeroth.
Tyrande clearly just toys with him for a bit before demolishing him. Nathanos is delightfully snarky as always. You can see Tyrande is in no mood for games or sass.
Me, I would have added one line for Tyrande after he mentions how Sylvanas is with the jailor.
“Yet, you are here, Blightcaller. Did she dump you for a new boyfriend?”
As for people not satisfied, what did you want? A damn snuff film? It’s a Teen-rated game.
Tyrande was in no mood to play with him or spend the time making him suffer. She still wants to find Sylvanas. Taking time to make him suffer means less time hunting for her.
Going by some of the insane replies here, nothing short of Nathanos’ severed head looking directly at the camera and tearfully apologizing to every night elf player for ever having raised a hand against their mighty empire would be enough. And even then, probably not.
Reading conversations about this cutscene across the internet, it’s startling how many people seem to legit think Nathanos was introduced in Legion, and seem baffled by this “random guy” being strong.
I wanted to watch Nathanos die filled with despair, his queen having forsaken him and left him to die. I wanted him to realize with his final moments where he was going, and that he would find no peace there.
Instead I got this. I guess I can only hope that we get to stomp his head in once again, and when that happens he’ll have run out of smugness.
Nathanos always struck me the character that, even if he had absolutely nothing left and you were about to kill him, would just use his last moments to criticize your sloppy technique in finishing him off. He doesn’t seem the type to show despair or fear to anyone except Sylvanas herself.
