This lady obviously has no idea what she’s talking about. All her posts can be disregarded as literal nonsense.
Right, that is literally what the original game was built on Horde vs Alliance.
Challenge Modes
Access to GMs, real people, within minutes after opening a ticket. For the most part, they handled the issue right then and there.
Don’t care, honestly.
Even the devs themselves said Vanilla and TBC didn’t have much of a story. They didn’t think the game would survive that long and was just throwing mud at a wall to see what sticks.
You can tell when later on they had to retcon a lot of the story telling.
Yeah, I missed actual GM’s instead of the bots they use now, which don’t even look at your tickets correctly. They just send you a link to a forum post about a problem that isn’t even related.
Yes, the plotline where the Horde spent 90% of their side of the campaign getting the aid of the Zandalari fleet and stealing a powerful artifact from the Kul Tirans was immediately followed by the Alliance going “actually we teleported into the heart of your base and stole everything back and also planted bombs on the entire Zandalari fleet and also feinted the entirety of both militaries lol” over the course of like 3 quests was the height of storytelling.
And who could forget the time Sylvanas recruited vampires into the Horde but nobody on the Horde besides her and like 12 sailors ever knew about them because they were eradicated in less than a week.
And then following the death of Rastakhan, Talanji officially brought the Zandalari into a partnership with the Horde in hopes of, among other things, striking back against the Alliance, just for the literal next plot point being Jaina going “war is dumb, we should stop and focus on the REAL problems!” like every other Warcraft Horde vs Alliance story does, just far more comedically timed.
I miss Horde and Alliance having different questing experiences in spots, instead of one shared quest experience.
I miss resil or pvp power (when Blizz cared). Also the big zones with raids in the middle like Wintergrasp and TB.
I miss hybrid specs.
I miss daily hubs with stories, not the renown that I don’t care about.
I miss Balance druids being about nature, not the sun and moon.
I miss expansions where each faction got a completely new race with a new starting zone like Goblins and Worgen in Cata or Draenei and BE in BC.
I could go on.
Slow, methodical gameplay.
You had real risks in the open world, and group composition in dungeons made a difference in how you approached fights. Now, everything is just a speed addict’s dream.
Gear - Few procs on things, few gems on things, less and less enchants on things, & now more recently a scaling system based on crests or whatever we are calling it now.
It’s all been watered down.
During MOP when they introduced cross realm raiding. They had the last raid split into section. I loved that. I was able to choose what part I wanted to play and ran it. I never raided so much in an expansion. I was really disappointed when that went away.
I miss when purple gear meant something special.
Humor.
The sensitivity readers have now removed anything spicier than a Dad joke. Cataclysm questing is absolutely hilarious, and a good reminder of better times.
Horde vs Alliance storylines.
Those haven’t been done well since WC2.
Wrathgate is by far the best moment in the franchise, starting with Horde players being tricked into making the plague, the team-up at the gate, the betrayal, then Varian charging into UC to take down Sylvanas. That long questline had everything.
There’s some good stuff in the Cata and MoP questing too.
I’d say what I liked but the first few comments already summed it up for me.

Right? What’s up with Blizz removing entire quest lines? Wrathgate, MoP cloaks, WoD rings, etc… Even if they want to keep the rewards/transmogs unique and remove them at the end of the expansion, there’s no need to delete the quest itself.
