Oof. I can’t see a human forcing that. Definitely makes it feel automated.
If name change reports were automated - sweet fuzzy bunnies would this forum be flooded 24/7 with nothing but name change posts.
As I said in the other thread, something must be different for SoD. I wholly approve if it helps weed out things that shouldn’t have been allowed at the time of character creation. But generally speaking - the only thing established that is automated is the squelch system. Which is only temporary until a GM checks into the reports, which generally is under 24 hours.
It’s a lot of factors, including how bad the name is.
Whilst this is true, you need to be careful. So long as you don’t get reported again, you’ll get away with it. But if you get reported again and it gets escalated to an actual human (usually if you make the mistake of disputing it via a ticket), then you will quickly get yourself.a suspension.
Three days for the first time then a week if you do it again, isn’t it?
I rarely report names, they have to be really bad for me to bother. Someone had a REALLY bad one in the starting isle the other day so yeah I reported it. He wasn’t knocked offline, kept playing till the end when you leave the island.
Of late, I’ve not seen nearly as many 24 hour stints as there used to be. Seems like jumping to a full on week to drive home a point is becoming more the norm, which hopefully helps to clean up things.
Depends on who it is. A streamer got flagged for a name change, his was kinda, well, not horrible but definitely not ok. He didn’t get any game time off, just had to change his name.
Generally speaking on the first offense they do try to get the forced name change. If they name it the same thing and get flagged or another character is also dinged, that’s when the game vacations start.
Having experience with name police trolls… it can’t take too many people to cause it. I was named “foxyBoo” (the beta symbol for the b) on area 52 once upon a time ago and someone said it was racist… and i got banned for a month… Exploitable and automated, take out your enemies with 2 easy clicks
I was not prepared for the name I saw. I do see why some people might not have liked it too much. It’s definitely one of those “this is really funny in an ‘oh no’ kind of way” in my opinion.
