I had the name watchmeblink and then I got flagged for a name change this is I now have that name on another character but it was on my main I am extremely annoyed this is on season of discovery
By chance, did you create “Watchmeblink” on the RPPVP season of discovery server? You can’t have names that form sentences on roleplay servers.
…That said, I don’t see any other naming rules that might result in you getting a forced name change for a name like that…
That is very interesting because there are many names that are sentences on this server can you link that rule
From the Reporting a WoW Character name article, which includes the Naming Policies:
Additional Rules for Role Playing Realms
World of Warcraft Role Play (RP) realms are intended to provide players with an added level of immersion in the game world and must avoid being disruptive to the world. Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to):
- Non-medieval or non-fantasy names (For example: Slipnslide, Robotman, Discoinferno)
- Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons (For example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)
- Names that consist of multiple words (For example: Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou, Sixtyseventy)
[Emphasis mine.]
its a streamer name is why it was reported I cannot imagine that, that was the real reason as names that are immersion breaking are super common

Blizzard reserves the right to assign a random name to any character violating our RP naming policy. For more severe or repeat violations, we may apply additional penalties to the account.
yet again it was a streamer name not because of it being an rp server
It doesn’t matter, if it goes against the rules, it goes against the rules.
If you think the forced name change was made in error, appeal it. Simply renaming yourself (or creating another character with the same name) opens you up to getting reported again and suspended.
how do I appeal it
i’m not even sure what this is meant to mean.
there are no additional rules about “streamer names”…
From this webpage: Click Contact Support (the button is gray, but should work). The Account category should be highlighted already – click Appeal Account Action → Appeal Name Change. Click Contact Us.
Then you should be able to select your server… but I’m not sure if you should use the old character with the forcibly renamed name, or the new character that you have as a placeholder for the forcibly renamed name…
You’ll definitely want to specify that you’ve done that in your ticket.
my name was wrongfully mass reported because I had a streamers name and blizzard has an automatic system to make you change names
The people could have reported you as though you were trying to imply that you were that streamer. The community dictates the naming the conventions as to what they believe should and should not be allowed. Be creative. Name your character something for yourself, not someone else with an established persona.
And while I have never seen name changes being enforced so quickly, it may be something specific that they’re doing with SoD. This mad rush of name changes we’re seeing over the past couple days has been interesting thus far.
Not sure what race your character is, but give this a try for the rename, if you cannot come up with something more appropriate on your own.
thank you so much really helpful!!
