money is kind of tight right now I really wish I bought the expansion when it gave a month free of game time I was really teetering on buying it or not, do you think they’ll ever do that promotion again. i regret buying BFA and shadowlands dragonflight seems like it would have been better waste of my money
i think the npc dialogue in dragonflight is overall less serious and more realistic, which i like tbh.
nails idea rivergleam is cool, love her voice toddy whiskers can shove it
I think the issue is more in the delivery. It sounded to me like she was told to just read it all in one breath, when you’d realistically break that line with a very brief pause. Like “Guards! Arrest this (slight pause) handsome wizard…”
Then again, I like Naleidea’s voice. Enough to sort of wish she read/narrated some in-world stories.
Yeah, I agree with this. For example, while I have no issues with the voice they gave Toddy, some of her dialogue makes me picture her as the teacher in an Azeroth version of the Magic School Bus. Given the other things surrounding DF (with an elemental dragon that wants to wipe out all the mortal races and such), it’s a bit tonally inconsistent.
But otherwise, who would warn you about those “hongry” Proto-drakes? She’s infinitely more tolerable than Toddy Whiskers (who comes up with crap like this?). Blizzard’s new target audience is revealed when she tells you to go make a couple of new friends. Grown folks tend to cringe at stuff like that.
That’s a shame. I really like Rivergleam’s VA. The ‘handsome wizard’ line really had my cracking up. I cannot stand Noddy, but Rivergleam is great.
Perhaps it depends on what you want to get out of VA. I really like goofy and cheesy lines that get stuck in my head and I can slide into conversations without people knowing what it’s from. But if you’re not into quoting lines from the game just for fun, I can understand how lines/characters that really stick out can get annoying. I used to really dislike the tree academy lines, but then I started making fun of them and realized I now liked making fun of them.
The silly lines and goofy voices used to be mixed in for flavor, now they’ve become the bulk of the meal. The voice actors are perfectly competent (for the most part), its just the art direction choice that some people find kinda meh.
