Mythic+ Loot Changes

Why does getting only 1 upgrade a week sound like good game design/fun to you?

It’s not, it is a blatant time gate Blizzard uses to keep their players subscribed for dead content later on in their expansion. It’s funny that players support this time gate tactic.

It still will be, 3 ilvls isn’t going to change any of that, I honestly don’t understand how people are concerned about this change.

M+ is still the most versatile gearing option with far more stat combinations than any other content in the game, as well as not having an acquisition limit.

If people like OP think world first raiding isn’t going to be M+ farm stream simulator for the first 3 weeks of progress then they simply don’t understand how the game works well.

You’re not getting 1 upgrade per week? For the first 4-8 weeks (or longer if you’re more casual) the drops from mythic+ will be upgrades for most players.

I think you’re missing the point. M+ gearing was SO FAST that the gear quickly became irrelevant to anyone who had the willpower to grind for a week or two - especially if you gear stacked with friends. They flattened the gearing curve, so now your odds of getting upgrades over a longer period of time is actually higher. The chest is your means to getting tippy top levels of gear, but it is not the only gear you’ll be getting.

I am a M+ only player right now, and the idea that you’re selling, that we get 1 piece per week, is ridiculous hyperbole.

I really don’t understand why all of these blizzard cucks think the majority of players getting 1 upgrade per week is good game design.

The Vault is clearly a device used to increase played time metrics and GATE the gearing of most players.

Oh I got one for you

In the first m+ cache of this season, the one I worked so hard for to make sure I had max level reward I got… my’das talisman. I wanted to curl up in a ball in the closet and cry.

in the third m+ cache I got… my’das talisman.

and a few weeks later I got… another my’das talisman.

Do you play the current game? You get 1 piece a week now lol.
The only difference is now you only have to do a 14 in SL and you can get multiple options instead of relying on RNG.

Edit: nvm friend I think I see you were actually saying the same thing but to someone else, my mistake.

Blizzard is only giving you one piece of loot per week that is comparable to Heroic Raids for your sub fee. You are the true cuck if you support that.

That is demonstrably incorrect. In one/two weeks after getting to 60 most semi-casual players will have a full set of 210/213 gear from mythic+/heroic raid.

After that, its just 1 upgrade a week, unless you have a guild that can do mythic raiding.

For the VAST MAJORITY of players, it will be 1 upgrade a week.

And here I am just waiting to leave work.

This is hyperbole. Your “vast majority” is the top 1-2% of players. I think you’re stuck in a bubble. Most players are not running mythic raids or doing 20+ keys. A teeny tiny percentage of players do.

17’s and above did yield higher tertiary rewards such as echoes, residuum, AP. It also had a quirky result of allowing subsequent 15’s to be easier to pug into, for those that were pugging. Obviously the last point is anecdotal.

Which feels bad… Get rid of the chest then, and itemize through your direct hard work (be it M Raid, +25 keys, or 2500 Arenas)… Using hand-out ideology to me is the exact opposite of what I’ve been arguing for lol

Mod Edit: Removed inappropriate language from post.

You do realize the old method of gearing was raiding for months hoping RNJesus was favorable to you and you had enough DKP to buy the item. We usually had 6-8 months inbetween raid tiers and you were just getting fully geared out by the end of it.

You get gear way… way faster than you used too. People obviously like this one a week chest thing because my game practically dies when I go to loot the chest right after reset each week. There’s easily 50 players crammed into one room.

Depleting a 15 is not on par with Heroic Raid.

No Mythic 15 boss is as difficult as any Heroic Raid boss, and that’s the only actual barrier to completing in overtime.

Bro. Are you not thinking critically?

A +7 will reward 213 gear. Everyone will have 213 gear one week after getting max level.

Then its only 1 upgrade a week and to get that upgrade, you need to do a lot of content A LOT.

Neither of those are fun or good game design.

1 upgrade a week. You cucks will whiteknight for blizzard for one upgrade a week.

The time investment you need to make for 1 upgrade a week is actually insane.

While technically true, by the time you are capable of doing 17s, you will largely not need that stuff, especially the TR.

It’s also not the only, or even best, source of those things, which makes it irrelevant.

Loot is finite per week in a Heroic Raid, whereas Mythic + let you farm better quality stuff infinitely, which is the impetus for this change.

End of dungeon loot is vendor trash after the first couple weeks.

I’m amazed at how much people have been freaking out over an ilvl reduction to vendor trash.

timing one max level dungeon gives you one near-mythic-ilvl item in the weekly cache

exactly how it works now

this.

100% true. You all are freaking out over something that is ridiculously insignificant.
