Mythic+ Loot Changes

There hasn’t been a choice since M+ was introduced. At the beginning of every patch since the start of Legion spamming M+ was the only viable way to gear your character at a competitive and respectable rate.

You’re being hypocritical.

I’m waiting to watch my horrible RNG luck give me the same 3 slots to choose from every week lol

plz don’t even give them this idea

In earlier WoW expansions including Vanilla you had a clear progression of gear. You had to do the previous raid tiers in order to do the current raid tier which usually meant that once Naxx or Sunwell came out… the people who were just sitting around in Molten Core were basically SOL.

Now with most raids you end up dumping the previous tier of raids and go straight to the current. With gear catch-up mechanics you can basically go straight into Nz.

I haven’t even seen the other raids that came out in the earlier patches.

I’d love to hope that this is a thing that can’t happen.

but… I’m pretty sure it can and they’d shrug it off as RNG

Imagine supporting mythic plus dropping lower ilvl gear than heroic raids, when the difficulty of mythic plus has a higher difficulty curve than heroic raids in later key lvls.

Happy Tuesday Champion! Would you like the bracers, belt, or boots this week?

While this is actually possible, it’s mathematically improbable. Since the vault literally cannot drop duplicates on same-week drops, you can farm out 3-9 drops per week; while you can get a bad draw, getting the same 3+ items every single week is extremely unlikely.

“Okay this week I need Haste/Mastery gloves or belt at i226. Come on baby”

[opens chest]

  • i226 Vers/Crit Pants
  • i226 Vers/Crit Pants
  • i203 Crit/Mastery pants

[uninstalls]

The curve would have to be steepened then, and +20s would award higher quality loot.

Depleting a +15 is not as difficult as a Mythic raid, more on par with heroic.

Oh, I know. I’m not disagreeing at all.

But executives look at it this way:

  • players want X
  • It takes Y amount of time to get X
  • Let’s increase Y and reduce the chances to get X
  • That increases engagement!

It’s more like raiders complained about players not wanting to farm N’zoth with his atrocious mechanics to get geared. Now we are going to have bad mechanics like N’zoth in Shadowlands but now everyone is forced to do them every week if they want to stay competitive in PvP and Mythic Plus.

**Re install wow with a bigger bag of quarters

You will get it next week for sure :+1:

It’s mathematically improbable that I could get bracers 4 weeks in a row, then a belt, then 3 more bracers, but it happened.

If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all lol

You honestly can’t compare raiding to M+ though. It’s like battlegrounds to arenas. They just aren’t in the same league.

As a healer in M+ you’re focused on entirely single-target healing mostly with some group fluff where raid healing is all group healing and coordinated group timers. You can wipe on the same boss 20 times whereas M+ you get one chance.

Far fewer players complete keys over 20 than kill 3+ bosses in mythic raid. A good portion of non-raiders do kill the first 1-3 bosses of any given raid in pugs weekly.

No, I got the main sentiment. It’s “Waaaah”.

Every single one of these threads, without fail, is made by people who do neither Heroic Raid or Mythic+ at max reward level. They are all under the delusion that they’ll suddenly be MDI material next expansion despite never even completing a 15 in overtime.

Then they come in and say “Heroic Raid is stupid easy, so why does it give better loot?”. I don’t disagree that it’s easy, and if that’s your argument, then go do the raid for loot.

In this particular thread, OP has only ever done a +14 once in his life and is 3/12 heroic despite the fact that PUGs could complete H N’Zoth nine months ago.

Hell, I’ll make OP a deal. If he edits his post retracting it and apologizing for clogging the forums with a cry about something that doesn’t even affect him, I’ll carry him to AOTC for free tomorrow night.

Oh. Yes that is true. There are many guilds that put up a M+ requirement some raiders do not wish to engage in. As a raider I do recommend even raiders should run keys.

I have a feeling there’s going to be a huge culture shock in the coming expansion.

I suspect for the first few week it’ll seem like herioc raiding is the way to go for gearing up until those M+15s start kicking in from the chest.

In a month or two Key runners and Mythic raiders should be somewhat comparable.

This should be your biggest concern. You will have less mythic raiders in the pool because they can at least receive comparable loot from the weekly, You’re going to be left with lesser geared raiders.

It’s because Mythic Plus is harder than Heroic Raids by a long margin when it comes to +20 keys, additionally, the meta is typically required to complete them on time due to class imbalances and dmg mitigation needed. It’s only going to get worse now since there is no corruption to stack versatility traits to reduce class disparity in high end Mythic Plus.

Yes, and those players deserve full Mythic quality raid loot. People who do a +15 a week do not.
