Are you illiterate? I said commitment and coordination. Skill is for PvP. Also it depends on what level of mythic + you push. Certainly not Mythic +2, right?
Sorry for any offense - none meant.
Go watch some Heroic Raid Youtube videos and then compare it to your “commitment and coordination” in MDI competitions for Mythic Plus lmao.
Not at all. The answer was given in the second post of this topic. Max level endgame has always placed the focus for endgame rewards on raiding. No one cares to watch raiding as an e-sport outside of the WF race, but that does not in any way negate or even counter what I stated.
You get what he’s saying. When its OPENED UP, within 1-2 weeks people like you, him, and me with planned out, dedicated groups who run mythic+ for 4-5hrs a night will be 210/213 item level.
Then, after 2 weeks, (3 weeks if we want to parse it a bit more), you will only be getting 1 upgrade a week unless you mythic raid.
Which is a horrible design for a game that uses gear as the carrot to play more.
Agreed. Less time on systems more time on content including more dungeons.

corruption aside, how is this any different from how it works now?
those of us with dedicated teams gear up to EoD ilvl very fast. Then we no longer get upgrades from EoD loot.
Chasing corruption was the only thing that made an upgrade possible this seasons, and last season, chasing TF.
what am I missing?
what am I missing?
You’re missing that you are a selfish raider that supports nerfs to PvP and Mythic Plus. Hopefully, you get it soon.
This is a bandaid put in the system to keep people raiding based on the decision to remove set bonuses.
Blizzard caused the problem and instead of fixing it they are pulling a hamfisted attempt to corral people.
Currently you can get 465 items (better than heroic raid gear) from EOD in mythic+.
In Slands no matter what level key you do, your EOD loot from mythic + will be 210 (3 item levels less than heroic raid loot 213).
So people who don’t want to raid will be at a significant disadvantage than people who do, not only in raw item level gear drops, but also in the Great Vault bad luck protection.
Blizz is picking winners, as opposed to their previous philosophy of do/play what you you want to gear up.

What Blizzard is doing in Shadowlands to end game, is making me want to go back to ESO that has that philosophy that Ion ended up lying again about.
As a pickup heroic raider, I disagree. In 8.2 I geared up in M+ to prepare for heroic raiding and for unrated PVP. Within a couple of weeks I’d geared up to the point where I couldn’t get anything out of heroic raiding or unrated PVP. Pickup mythic raiding wasn’t open yet. So, I quit playing for the rest of the patch, and Blizzard was lucky I was on 6 month subscription.
Wow, didn’t even think of it like that. So 8.3 comes out and you could literally blow out in all 465s in like 2 weeks while people haven’t even cleared Heroic Nzoth.

ok, yes.
but your weekly cache will still be a near mythic quality item.
I think non-raiders will take longer to gear, but they’ll still gear.
The current system of EoD loot being better than heroic raid gear, I think is too far in the “M+ is better than raid” direction. m+ loot shouldn’t completely trivialize (edit: trivilize is the wrong word. out-pace might be better) heroic raid loot, which it for the most part currently does.
But, regardless, either way - EoD loot is vendor trash after a certain point, and that weekly cache item is where the upgrades are.
From my take, Anna is probably one of the least selfish folks on here. In fact, I recall at least one thread where they offered to help tank some mythic pluses for someone from the forums.
I like the current build of loot distribution but that’s my take. When the pendulum swings we will adapt and still dominate as necessary.
But just jumping in to share my perspective on them as a player from what I’ve seen.

I don’t care how you perceive them, I care about their actions. They are supporting nerfs to other aspects of end game play which Is PvP and Mythic Plus. So yes based on their actions, they are indeed a selfish raider. No PvP or Mythic Plus players are for nerfing themselves lmao.

ESO got those microsoft bucks now + Mike Morhaime’s studio, strap in the industry might get interesting. I’d like to be clear with this statement : I love this game (WoW), and hope it continues to thrive… I’m just eternally frustrated with decision making
I still think this is Blizzard’s reaction to all the “BAN RAIDER IO” chatter.
Too many people in BfA kept saying “But the only place I can get upgrades is Mythic+” followed by “Nobody will take me in M+! BAN RAIDER IO”
If those people can go into Heroic raiding (which is easily puggable) instead, then all that hoopla will be diminished.
There used to be multiple ways of attaining high level end game rewards, it was never only raiding until the game was only designed with raiders in mind.
I’ve been playing since 2005, this game has always been for raiders… ALWAYS… its only been last 2 expacs that M+ became a thing.

Solutions:
- Allow gear scaling above 15’s, that award ilvl scaling within M+ only (210 + 10 for M+ | If raided in, it is effectively 210)
- Diminishing Returns on loot opportunity to solve the scarcity / availability issue (resetting weekly)
- Alternatively, loot one key per dungeon per week (or something akin to this)
