I feel like running M+ as a tank or low tier is like working in customer service, people who haven’t done it will be toxic to you for any little mistake, while people who have worked in customer service will empathize and reassure you.
I seriously doubt this happens.
Ret’s actually borderline godly for M+, most utility in any melee class by a mile, but it has such a bad playerbase that it gets a bad reputation.
Never had this problem on my balance druid. I regularly run keys with holy priests and shadow priests as well. Also I’m sure you got that “lmfao reroll” response once and you’re making it seem like everyone says that to you
Oh I am quite sure people are getting declined based on other factors and just applying it to their chosen class/spec/whatever. Gives them a scapegoat and excuses them from doing anything about the situation.
I have no clue if I have ever been “unfairly declined” because I don’t ask for a reason on every delisting, decline, etc. I just…move on. Apply to more groups.
I mean ret isn’t borderline god tier. Depsite their decent utility, their damage outside wings isn’t enough and if you wanted a 2 minute burst cd you’d just get a fire mage… they’re not awful though, definitely viable
Ret is absolutely disgusting when you have the right traits, td and vision. Those procs man…make you feel real good.
DPS isn’t why I think ret’s good. They have Word of Glory, Blessing of Protection and Freedom, Clense, and Flash of Light. They’re boss killers with absurd group support. Ret’s AoE burst with Wake is also no joke, even without Wings.
The reason I say the ret playerbase is bad is because they try to AFK DPS instead of using their godly utility kit.
don’t feel bad op, i would get declined for M0 when it was the week with the heroic chest, mind you im way overgeared for zeros.
Wings is up like 50% of the time because of vision of perfection. You even get the avengers might buff when it procs.
Imo the problem isn’t community it’s the players. (which is the same thing I know but here me out)
Ill use SP for instance. It is not a weak class, but most SP you run into are absolutely horribly. So to save yourself from carrying someone, you avoid inviting them.
Same goes for mage, feral, shaman, Warlock. None of the classes or specs are bad, just bad players cause the spec to have a bad stigma.
Why risk inviting a Warlock when the last one you invited never interrupted and did 20k overall in a +7
You come back after a 10 year break, classes changed a lot since then, so there’s some catching up to do, that’s normal.
What I don’t get is you’re hating M+ but you’re having issues with not being able to raid. Those 2 are not connected. Also it’s not like gearing up right now was difficult.
Your other problem is claiming M+ is toxic, but it’s not. What makes it “toxic”, is the bad players in low M+.
Simcraft has a “I’m a trash player” setting, it’s actually called “Ouch fire hot” I think, won’t that account for the “fat fingers” mechanic?
Its because there are people 475+ also applying.
Why bring a 457 if you have 20+ 477 people to choose from?
That and it’s not part of the meta. I get declined from 4-6s all the time. No big deal I just keep trying.
Yep. You can go hit a target dummy with your preferred rotation and upload that to get the stat priority that will boost you the most. It’s pretty great actually.
I saw a great example why last night.
The leader picked some 455 hunter over a 472 in queue.
We had a few wipes and missed timer by about 2 min. Overall a great run imo.
472 would’ve left after the first wipe and scuffed the entire run.

Or. the 472 would have ensured yall didn’t miss the timer by 2 minutes.
This is why you pick by io not by ilvl. Ilvl means literally nothing, you can get 472 in a couple weeks
Nah.
Ran some scuffs before that. They (on average by far) all bail after a wipe or two so they don’t “mess up their resume”.
