Probably the biggiest difference (skill aside) between these people and the people who like to complain about meta classes in m+, is that the people who succeed as a non meta class typically aren’t pugging.
so the takeaway, imo, is to simply… run with friends.
if people would just let go of their insistence on pugging content that wasn’t developed with the pug experience in mind, they might find they have more success with it.
Good point
I think it should be said now then so we can make the two clear for everyone.
If you’re doing M+ pugging it you’re probably not a high level player so stop sweating the details and just do the run and switch people out only if they are proven to just not play well. (it’s all mechanics anyways)
If you’re doing M+ with a guild or community you’re probably a high level player and I appreciate your dedication.
many of the people playing like absolute garbage in lfr are 460+, so again I ask, why you think normal would be any different?\
and note: I’m not making any complaints about LFR here. I just think it’s a bit silly to ask that harder difficulties be randomized, when current LFR proves that the random queue crowd doesn’t well handle content that requires attention or organization.
I don’t even respond to people anymore. I either ignore them right away or if they seem like the reckless type I wait for them to say something I can report them for It is a bit annoying to have to /ignore + shift click name to ignore people cross server though.
15-20 any spec is fine IMO. I pug my 15 weekly as disc and have never had an issue OP is talking about. It’s important to get IO and ensure everyone has timed 15s, though. As long as everyone is competent the run should be clean.
And that’s fine, I won’t deny that M+ is probably best run with friends. I just wish there was more dungeon content that existed that was developed to be PUGed, because as it is normal/heroic dungeons just basically don’t exist anymore and only matter at the start of an expansion. Some people don’t have friends and are better off without friends and just want some dungeon content in this game that doesn’t require them to be good at making friends. “Just make friends” isn’t a good solution.
Then they’re best off playing the popular classes, running their own keys (can’t get rejected from your own key) or accepting that not every group is going to want a feral druid or arcane mage.
You can’t control other people, you can only control your own actions (and reactions).
Look at it like this, you wouldnt want torun with that group anyway because if they’re going to kick you solely based on spec then you can assume they’re toxic.
Or Blizzard could develop more content like Return to Kharazan or Operation: Mechagon, I think that could be a good solution.
Of course, I just want some more dungeon content to do that doesn’t require that I stop being on the autism spectrum and git gud at making friends lol.
And this is where a good group comes into play. After dungeons - harder ones to me - my usual group and I would debrief and chat and sometimes the poor performance was simply bad pacing on me, the tank - honestly this is a lot of the issue, since the dungeon is about time.
If it’s a throw-away PUG there’s no discussion, however brief, as to what the issues were (even with a timed run there will be issues), and thus no learning. In PUGs, I’ve been asked for and have asked others for their btag. This is where community can be built and where folks can start to really push higher (for them) keys.
They could, absolutely, and I can’t think of anyone who would object to it, but looking at the development trends over the past few expansions, I don’t think you should hold your breath for that to happen.
