This is hogwash. There was no challenging 5 man content before m+.
You personally like M+, so criticism of the system is HANDS OFF!
I’d like to appoint you to the captain of the M+ forum defenders.
um… no
not even close. the higher you go, the more likely people are to stay.
idk man, my experience is that people don’t leave keys in droves.
I’ve timed 250 keys this season - I’ve probably not timed a bunch more (but raiderr.io doesn’t count those and I’m not paging through history to count it manually)
What is your experience that shows people leaving keys is an endemic problem?
As you go up in key ranks, the ability of the players increase, and frankly, so does the attitude. Sometimes we mess up a key and mid run we’ll sit back, have a conversation that goes something like
“eh, I don’t think we’re going to time this, want to try the 18?”
“sure”
group zones out, does the 18
or
“hm. this is scuffed, want to try X key instead?”
“no dude, I have to go sorry! out of time”
“ok, thanks for the group!”
very, very rarely does someone hulk out and just bail.
You say a lot of ridiculous things
“10 year break” has WOD collectors… lol
2+2 must be witchcraft to you.
I used to spam heroics. Then one day M+ came along with their timers and MDIs…
Join a guild, make some friends, and run keys.
The end.
But what if I hate keys? I hate timers and I hate the stress it puts on the group. You honestly don’t have time to talk, kid around or do ridiculous shenanigans.
It’s a “super serious thing” that only stresses people out and brings out the worst kinds of attitudes.
Then don’t do them.
This sure happens a lot with my more goofy guild mates. And even if we fail the key, guess what? WE DON’T CARE.
Join a guild, make some friends, have fun running keys.
Sincere question, but what is lazy about mythic plus in your opinion?
the dh who calls people who have all timed +15s bad because they’re not timing +24s is a lot of the reason casuals like myself make fun of people who do mythic+.
It’s lazy because it’s the same repetitive content with different flavors for an entire expansion.
I’m glad you mentioned that. I purchased WoD as a returning player once again. You know why I quit fast? Pathfinder. Once I found out you couldn’t fly unless you did every quest and reputation, I quit.
So I mean, I haven’t really played WoW much since WoTLK days. Even in Cataclysm, I only played briefly.
Blizzard as a whole is walking on thin ice for there future. Not talking about 2 years from now, I’m talking about 5+ years from now. The choices and games they make now are going to define there future.
Pathfinder, Mythic+, toxic community where design is partially responsible… The list goes on…
They create features like: Essences, Visions, etc… Then you have people requiring the max of all those features. Guild X won’t recruit unless you are rank 3 essence, rank 15 cloak, etc… Its bad design. No one is predicting what these features would do in game before creating them.
In WOTLK days, if you needed to be geared, you just ran dungeons. No other gimmicky systems like essence and cloak… It just BLOATS how much time you need to spend to be accepted by other players to the point of being a full time+ job. Alternate characters? Nope, not viable unless you are a no life player. (Been there done that)
So instead they should be left to rot after you’ve exhausted their use during leveling? m+ gives you a reason to do the dungeons outside a new alt, or trash farming.
Also, did you find a guild, make some friends, and have fun running keys yet?
i went to classic to do “hard” dungeons that took cc and planning. instead i got 4 mages and a priest dungeoning their way to cap. there is no place left for those of us that want to play a certain way because people who play the way you do have ruined everything for us.
We should note that every major patch there has been a dungeon-changing affix added that was thematic to the patch, helping bridge the often disparate points of RPG and gameplay (G’huun infections season one, and the old god minions this season as examples).
Your opinion is valid to me, and I don’t debate that. I just debate the concept that the dungeons have been unchanging throughout this expansion. By any stretch of the definition of unchanging I respectfully disagree that they aren’t: they’ve had updates more so than any other dungeon content in the history of the game.
Additionally, pre-mythic plus, dungeon encounters were the same on day 1 as they were on the last day of the expansion. Exceptions would be new dungeons per patch, which we have gotten in BFA, too.
It’s also cool to note that we have 12 dungeons this expansion, quite a high number considering past expansions.
They should do a little thing I like to call…MAKE NEW CONTENT. lol sorry for yelling.
But for real, there is 0 reason why we couldn’t get a new dungeon every few months. Other mmos do this easily.
some of us want cata style dungeons that require thought and planning and cc and not just facerolling your AoE key to beat a timer. to some people that’s fun, but not to us all. the game caters to you guys and has abandoned us.
Have you try this system call make your own group?
I hear it works so well you won’t get rejected
Holy Priest checking in, the worst healer for M+, happily running and timing 10s - 13s with an io of nearly 1300. All done as Holy.
Any key higher than 15 is for literal e-peen boost. M+ has requirements, and because the majority of wow’s population are terrible players, M+ gets a bad rep.
