It’s really not impressive lol. Court of Stars is one of the most undertuned dungeons they’ve ever released

WRaTh all over again, blizzard never learns from the past.

Do you play top 100? No?? So what is the relevance for you???

Oh I’m not allowed to talk about observations I’ve made sorry master

They’ve eroded common sense and realistic trade offs like

Armor / Fire power / Mobility
DPS / Tank / Heal

But now we have tanks doing more healing and with better mobility than cloth healers. So hear we are.

Not sure if there’s much they can do about it now. Content is designed around tanks that don’t need healing while the group does.

Top MDI players have now confirmed that replacing healers with a 4th DPS and using a Prot Pally as both tank and healer is a viable strategy. Several teams have adopted this strategy with a Prot Paladin tanking and replacing the healer.

why does this bother you? are you a healer who is now put out of a job or something?

the first MDI in Legion had a team called “No Healer” and they ran with a blood DK, three havoc DHs and a rogue. they came in second.

replacing healers in high end mythic plus is something that has been happening since mythic plus existed.

Because no tank class should be OP to the point that they actually replace the healing class in game.

please see my comment

WoW uses the holy trinity for a reason. Whoever thinks that a comp in end game not using a healer is considered playing the game as intended due to balancing issues with Paladin tanks, is someone who you can’t even rationalize with.

this is not a “prot paladin specific issue”… the MDI team in legion called “no healer” used a blood dk, three havoc DHs and a rogue… no paladins there little buddy.

i mean, look at all of shadowlands… healers were borderline useless and completely unnecessary except for one or two magic dispells per dungeon.

Idc what they did in Legion, I only care about what’s happening right now and what is happening is Paladin Tanks are unbalanced to the point that they are currently replacing healers in Dragonflight lil bro

sounds like blizzard wants to replace healers… good plan blizzard, keep it up

they basically removed the need for healers in shadowlands

Blizzard developers and WoW players have stated recently that they want to make healers more focused on healing and less focused on doing damage. They said that they want healers to feel like they are making a difference in the fight by keeping their allies alive, “they want healers to heal again.” They say that it is not fun to play a healer if you are spending most of your time doing damage instead of healing. They want to feel like they are making a difference in the fight by keeping their allies alive.

How do these design philosophies work now if they are just being replaced in end game group comps by paladin tanks lol. People like you want the game to go backwards to Legion instead of the future where the WoW Devs intend healers to go.

look at that video in your OP… maybe watch it again.

look at the healing meters… the only healer in that group is not just the prot paladin but also the Shadow priest using Vampiric Embrace and the Shaman using Ancestral Guidance.

you want to remove vampiric embrace and ancestral guidance as well?

I did, it’s a group with 4 DPS and 1 Tank.

you still have to be careful, there are a few spots in there that you have to be prepared for or it could get a few kills on you

Love how healers whined about needing to do damage and orbs, acting all high and mighty, then the moment we realize we don’t even need them they come crawling back crying like we stole their puppy.

Guess you gonna do orbs now huh, you gonna like it huh? Mr. Replaceable

look at the DPS in that comp again please.

Shadow Priest and Enhance Shaman.

is the prot paladin doing some healing? sure.

but the prot paladin is doing almost no dmg because he had to completely spec into all the increased healing talents.

So, it seems like a fine trade off = prot paladin loses alot of dmg to keep group alive with heals, then you get to bring a fourth dps instead of a healer.

i genuinely see nothing wrong with this example you linked in your OP… seems completely fine to me.

LOL YUP
