My take on why Warlocks just don't perform

So now that this has gotten to the point where you just say no and i just say yes, I’ll move on.

You don’t know anything about me and your assumptions just embarrass you. I’m a total scrub and this has nothing to do with my ego. Sorry to burst your narrative.

Tbh man, destro pvp just flat out sucks. It genuinely feels like crap, chaos bolt feels exceptionally underwhelming. If you’re chain casting them then yeah they’re not bad, but let’s be real here, when are you EVER chain casting bolts these days in arenas? The answer is that you’re not, youre already lucky enough to just get a single bolt off most of the time, let alone 2. It just feels horrible and that’s all there is to it, your casts don’t feel meaningful or rewarding

How about that Grevious/Bursting combo we had the first week. That was great fun.

I don’t see why this is such a black and white argument.

They could balance for both world first raiders and the rest of us, and they should. I think they try to do that and the dps rankings start to tighten up over time. It just takes them too long to do it.

Nonetheless, warlock is improving. Let’s hope it continues!

Warlocks always scale slowly as gear levels increase. The next patch is bringing more buffs to destro and affliction. I think we will be feeling good in a few weeks

What are they doing for destro?

  • Ashen Remains now causes Chaos Bolt, Incinerate, and Shadowburn to deal 5/10% increased damage to targets afflicted by Immolate.
  • Eradication now causes Chaos Bolt and Shadowburn to increase the damage you deal to the target by 5/10%.
  • Burn to Ashes now causes Chaos Bolt and Rain of Fire to increase the damage of your next 2 Incinerates by 15/30% and Shadowburn to increase the damage of your next Incinerate by 15/30%.

Yes, I can agree there is way to much to dodge in most of these encounters. It’s too much. 100% uptime on dodging stuff is not fun. They can start by just chilling out a little.

Yeah not super exciting unfortunately. Gives it a little more value to shadowburn I guess.

Ive played warlock off and on since release. Its always been the middle of the pack besides a couple times where it was super meta(black temple) (3&4season sl) truth be told no spec is S teir but high skilled players place it there

Sure bud

I’m experimenting with this wierd build in anticipation of shadowburn buffs. It has no major cooldowns, just putting out blasphemy very often. I think overwhelming power is an increase over master ritualist even in pure AoE, though getting the stun more often might be worth it in m+. You can use mayhem to spread immolates, or pop 2 shadowburns and a conflag on the move. Its much more mobile than playing with CDF and soulfire, and i just love stacking 3 RoF and watching it rain. Going to run some sims on it and see what the robot says.

With the next patch changes ill be able to apply the debuff from eradication with shadowburn, even at 2 targets with mayhem procs. Just a wierd, fast paced spec.

Hey everybody! Look at this! Tell me how demo is an “S-tier” damage performer? I’ll wait.

My - reasonable - complaint is that, save for destro, which is pretty simple as a spec, affliction and demonology don’t pull the same weight some other classes do despite being way more complex in management. Another complaint is that our AoE kit is very distant from ST.

In example: If you are running siphon life, haunt and dread touch you have 5 debuffs to apply, 3 modifiers to watch, the big drain life and two cooldowns. Plus, making sure you don’t overcap on shards for Malefic Rapture. Also, you have zero - 0, null - AoE effect, even taking talents like Phantom Singularity or Vile Taint. Now do all that while playing dance dance swirlvolution.

In PvP I think warlock is not bad at all, nor exceptionally broken, but zugzug melee complains a lot because it is one of the few casters right now that doesn’t drop dead 2 seconds after they waste one of their five gap closers. Sucks to have to run precog in destro, though.

Here you go, I’ll post my logs when I get home.

You have 1iL better gear than I do, and you don’t do pull 75 overall? 60 overall then? You might need to fix your spec.

For your consideration.

Hey man don’t get me wrong, buff my spec, I’m down. Aff is performing better at single target boss dmg anyway, buff me baby

Also a bold statement saying hunters are the most saught after dps spec, when across all keys hunters are parsing below warlocks.

Broke up the links so the forums allow them to be posted.

Solution : reroll FOTM

Lol damn, so locks aren’t top dmg for one phase of the expansion. Here’s all the ONG THEY NEED BUFFED, THEIR KIT SUCKS FOR M+. THERES NO MOBILITY. But were you complaining last expansion when 3 outta 4 phases locks were the number 1-5 top dps for both raid and M+? Both destro and demo were top dps for phase 3 and 4 last expan. Only competing against themselves. So they dropped a bit. May it be the affixes or gear that’s available, yes they probably dropped in being the superior dps. It happens. We still have our utility and our spots are still being considered for raids. It may not be cause we topping every meter but we are still desired for our cookies/SS/gates/CC. Also we do still dps. Give it a phase and see if we get a boost. We can’t always be top dps forever. Anyways I still enjoy the playstyle that got me into demo lock. And will still play demo lock cuz I know I like playing. Also I’m not an elitist. Not saying I am, but don’t need to be one if your enjoying your class/spec. If not swap classes and see if you enjoy that.

Just popped in to say demo is S tier and git gud
