Except spriest is looking to be incredibly broken once 10.0.5 hits.
Currently doing 400k dps every 30 seconds on ptr with those changes in m+.
IMO, I think demo does fine* for most content but there is a considerable… lack? of viability to the other specs due to the fact you have to FOCUS so hard on aoe, cleave, or single target.
Like, mechanically affliction is super complex or “dense” which makes it for such busy work to result is subpar cleave or aoe dps when compared to demo which just uses dogs / implosion and get better results.
Destro can do good in single target / 2 target situations but they will flop hard on aoe and have no mobility… I really don’t get why half my abilities have a significant cast time when other classes get harder hitting abilities on a shorter CD / cast time base.
Furthermore, Destro has no mobility and has no ability to cast on the move. IMO, Burning Rush should allow warlocks to cast on the move. Like, I’d take a mobility or increase the dmg but I want to cast my Soulfire when I need to move position during a boss fight… AND remove Burning Rush from the GCD for gods sake… its so awful atm because it stops my entire rotation…
WoW needs to stop making warlocks decent, but then do everything in their power to either kneecap them or make only one viable spec to water down the warlock class.
This thread was a great read all round, but this
Has to take the cake, it’s not even his thread, he just decided it was .
I really want to like Affliction but it’s just too annoying to play. Dot spread could be a lot easier, and so could maintaining them. Something that passively adds seconds like rogues have for slice and dice would be cool, maybe just shadow bolt/drain soul?
We do aight
Thank you for this amazing reply as I’ve been trying to figure out a spec that didn’t have soulfire. I hateeeeee demo amd being forced to play it to do solid aoe has been frustrating to say the least.
